  2. The site will be used for a new monument to the late King. Pattaya to erect monument honouring King Bhumibol Adulyadej, The Legendary Royal Sailor Pattaya City has unveiled plans to commemorate the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as King Rama IX, through the construction of a monument at the site of the old royal sailing club on Pattaya beach. Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat presided over a meeting highlighting the city’s dedication to preserving its cultural heritage. The inspiration behind this initiative stems from a historic event where Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, accompanied by the Royal Family, sailed in Pattaya Bay decades ago. This event holds immense historical and cultural significance. On April 19, 1966, at 4:28 AM, His Majesty the King personally sailed a 13-foot OK-class sailboat named “Vega” across the Gulf of Thailand, from the Klai Kungwon Royal Palace in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, to Toey Ngam Beach, Sattahip, Chonburi, arriving at 9:28 PM after a 17-hour journey covering 111 kilometres. His remarkable feat conquered challenging weather conditions and numerous obstacles. ...
  3. Not been updated for a while worries over interest rate cuts could push £ down ...
  4. So they got Beach road beautification finished or did they all the equipments gone all the materials are gone no more employees working. But in walking today I noticed for whatever reason they left all the old blocks and brickwork in place between Soi 10 and Soi 12. Since it's now low season it would seem like they would continue to work and finish it unless they're not going to finish it and I can't imagine why just in that location anybody got any ideas?
  5. Yeah i only get Ultracet, 37.5 Tramadol but it does the job for me. My local pharmacy lets me have 2 boxes at a time (20 tabs) and i don't abuse it, i only use when absolutely necessary.
  6. Today
  7. Just got home from the gym. There was this young lady around early 20’s on the treadmill next to me. She had this bra type top on and a lovely pair of tits that were bouncing nicely as she jogged. Tried to catch a glances without being caught lol. Made for a nice workout.
  8. Yea, i don't like Gatwick either. Location, delays etc, much rather have Heathrow. Though, hopefully the start of more competition ...
  9. I did get Tramadol when I was in Thailand but the active ingredient comes in different doses and I think it was quite small compared to what I got on prescription in UK. I could get more boxes but the pharmacy would only give me a couple without prescription.
  10. Bingo. Good luck for some...bad for others.
  11. Fares might be even more competitive if BA decided to resume those flights daily, and from Heathrow. I don't particularly like Gatwick, and I am sure many others from north of London are not too thrilled about a Gatwick departure. Still, it is something that I was really happy to see come to fruition and it now offers a better choice for all of us.
  12. The silver car did stop but he saw the Swiss guy already crossing, the white car just felt he had right of way and probably didn't see the Swiss guy till he hit him. Maybe the silver car wanted to turn right, he was in the correct lane. Its just Thailand and with no traffic lights it really is a lottery as to who has right of way. The Swiss guy just looks like he was 'eyes front' and driving across that intersection whatever. Just a really sad situation which happens many times a day in Thailand due to lack of driving skills, bad luck and lack of awareness.
  13. Was having a look at some dates for non stop flights to Thailand the other day, noticed, EVA, Thai and BA on it now. Can only be a good thing, more competition, not that i've ever flown on them to Thailand.
  14. Takes me back to when one of the greatest bands no one talks about now had both Steve Marriott and Frampton in it ...
  15. Almost all my CD's I purchased via subscriptions to Columbia House's mail order club. I built up quite a collection of CD's taking advantage of the their signup bonus promos and then cancel the subscription. Rinse and repeat. I still listen to the music that was on those CD's as a long time ago I converted them to MP3 files.
  16. I have to admit that as a farang I try to order my coffee in fluent Thai. Mrs TT says it is correct but the look on the face of ghe girls face tells me she has no clue. They generally turn to Mrs TT and try to converse with her which irritates me greatly. I have on occasion asked the girls colleagues if she is Thai and understands Thai, in Thai. Seems to do the trick.
  17. Reminds me of the time I went out to buy a new computer in the early 1990's. The PC was on sale and came with a collection of 10 CD-roms. The shop assistant pointed to a crate and said I could select the disk from there. The disks were either demos, shareware games or porn pictures from various BBS. Being a 14-16 year old hormone filled teenager I naturally chose 10 porn cd's. 😁
  18. Just got my electric bill for March/April, I get the ticket direct from PEA, the local electric company, even though I rent and there's a management office. They agreed from day 1 (2 years ago) that I'll pay the electric and water directly. Looking at my bill, if you just take the units used and the headline figure the government rate is 3.6729 per unit. Underneath that is a couple of other bits in Thai that I don't understand (probably standing monthly charge) and a 56 baht refund for something I again don't understand, but that total divided by the units used is 3.9527 per unit. With the tax at 7%, if that's added then a unit cost worked out it's 4.2293 per unit. Whichever calculation is used, at 10 you're paying over double the government rate, so definitely OTT.
  19. Superb bass line (I play the bass) but you could add Pigs, what do you want from me and sheep
