We have football pontoon in our local pub group. Premier league top twenty or so teams. Pick a team out of the hat and that’s yours until some team scores exactly 21 goals, over that and you’re bust. The teams are divided into two sets. One set is goals scored against their rivals and the others are for those goals that are scored against themselves. Usualy if it runs for 10 weeks or so, the prize is around £250, depending on how quickly someone gets to 21. I think I’ve won it three times. For a £1 a week, well worth the prize and the lighthearted banter involved, as everyone takes the piss out of everyone’s teams. 🤗🏆

Next Season we should get a Thailand 24/7 Fantasy Football comp going. I know @Binlid and @Thinkingallowed have previously done it elsewhere. Bit of craic!

Well, after a few beers near the beach in Seminyak I ended up in what is now turning into another "regular"...The little Belgian place. @Lambik , yes I hesitated for the split pea soup as sure it would have brought back some very old memories....Next time ! I couldn't resist going for the escargots as starter, as they were so nice last week. And yep, pure perfection again, even more as I had some wine instead of beer. As main course, I went for the "Vol au Vent". Very nice as well, although I had to question the owner about the presence of a slice of lemon....His answer was "yep, we'll never do that in Belgium or France, but here there are some people who like a zest of lemon on it..." Horror and stupor but we both knew the culprits.... Total damage 370 k IDR (830 b / 22 Euro), and of course the drinks representing the best part of it. But sorry, no way I am going to savour this stuff with a fruit juice or a smoothy ! Next weekend, definitively will try the mussels !

Last check of my fantasy football team, and thinking what a great day of sport from football to boxing, late kick off as well. Edit - Oh, and snooker, wee Mark from my home town is in the semi final after winning last night, didn't realise it would be played next day, though the rounds are still only first to 6.

Just arrived in my hotel in Koh Samui and it started pissing down with rain, luckily we were in room before the downpour. I have now just found time to get a few beers from the local Family Mart on the main road. Was quite a trek from Don Mueang to Nakhon Si Thammarat, to Donsak Pier to Lipa Pier and finally to Crystal Bay Yacht Club resort but worth it. Will be slumming it on Bangkok Airways next Saturday direct to Swampy.

Saw Metallica years back before they became a stadium band.Great live band.Saw Godsmack first when their debut album came out about 1999,it was their first UK tour and they were supporting Megadeth.Seen them a couple of times since.Got a ticket to see them again in feburary,it is a rearranged date after they had to cancel the one last month. Interesting story about Godsmack.A mate of mine has relations in Boston and his cousin went to school with 2 of the band members,and it was through him i got to hear about the band and been a fan ever since.

Blimey been married 24 hours and the wife has already buggered off to see the family in deepest Bangkok. For me, it looks like a quick journey to Henry J Bean downstairs near the lobby although they don't do pies and I could really do with a pie, too much Thai food has been finding it's way down my gob. Won't drink too much as getting on a 6.50 am flight out of Don Muang.

@Lambik, Just back from the supermarket. This is the only one in Sanur where the bakery is nice, and offer a decent choice. None of that shiite like croissant with ham and cheese, warmed in the microwave... 5 min by taxi from my place or 15 min by pushbike (I suppose, never tried..)
