    Second Road. Baht buses use area in front of this as a stopping point to collect passengers. If you get one of the baht buses here that is stationary and waiting to fill up, you can guarantee it will go onto Naklua, rather than turn left at the Dolphin Circus and proceed towards Beach Road.

    My car in the UK is an MB E500 Sport,5461cc of pure joy.I turned 65 last year & said that when I retired I'd sell it as it's expensive to tax(£540pa currently) but I'm still working occasionally & I love the car.It was a year old when I bought it & I've had it for 7 years now,longer than I've owned any car.It's quite a rarity as well. The bike is an FXDX I've had since new in 2003.I've done lots of work(& spent a small fortue)to it,including stage 2 bore out to 1550cc & getting the heads gas flowed.Considerably faster than when new & it handles better than most Harleys.For the first few years the missus would refer to it as "your # 1 wife". The pick up is what we drive in Thailand,handles like a barge but I like the feeling of plenty of metal around me on Thai roads.

    A traditional Indonesian plate. Named "Rijsttafel" , legacy of the Dutch. In English it would be "rice table" , a sampling of various Indo dishes. The presentation is really nice. I forgot to take a pic of the menu.detailing all the ingredients.

    A year or two ago, they built a concrete jetty next to the sewage outlet at the far south end of the beach. You can see it in Painter's picture. The reason for it was not apparent until now - it forms the end of the "nourished" beach.

    Met up with my best friend yesterday evening for a few Bintang. We go back to the 70's , Navy at same time, left together, joined the same course at mechanical school, joined the same company, stayed with them for over 30y, travelled the world, has been posted around 20y in Asia also. Married with a Korean woman. He just retired a few months ago . First meetup as official pensioners, Peninsula beach bar, plenty Bintang.. Having a beer right now as coffee wont do it ! And I think I'll skip the swimming as well ....

    No bacon but on my last visit they had beef sausages which for me is a great upgrade on chicken sausages. Photos of food in Gulf lounge in the morning here...

    Reminds me of beef stroganoff, which I am dying to have. On noodles though. Also cream chipped beef on toast would love to have. So many different things I've had in LOS and discover there is too much sugar in it. And things that are processed already so you can't ask for less sugar. I like savory flavors. If I want sweet I'll get some candy or a cookie or something, but don't put it in everything for gods sake.

    In Bangkok for a couple of days and I always get to this place to eat the food is excellent it's very cheap and it's always full of Thai people which tells you something. It is located on Sukhumvit near Soi 1. In what looks to be a couple of old garages.
