Personally, I will miss that forum. Hey I've loved that bar and the hotel for years. I'll miss the historic fun atmosphere of the bar, and the location of the hotel for Walking Street. I hope the adjourning door will remain open & is still going to give accessibility to and from both. I will say, the rooms really need to be cleaned up and updated. I think myself & Stax over the last few years were some of the few from the forum that actually used the bar and stayed in the hotel too, for a month at a time. Many on the forum liked the bar, but didn't seem to stay upstairs. I could kinda understand why. The bar has been suffering through the last years, really since it didn't have a falang manager. The hotel is always booked up, yet it has been booked on most floors with mostly Indians in recent years, who are not users of the bar, I'm not bitching, as I love the place, just voicing my viewpoint.5 points

That's appalling a customer smoking a pipe in an indoor restaurant- you should have battered him with that sausage๐2 points

Running "parallel" to the avenues great wall, a new row of market stall. They do make the passage a bit narrow in one part.... Some already occupied... Including this chap who last year had a stall in the downstairs market, then was moved to a small 2nd floor out of the way lockup, then to the middle of the 2nd floor market, now to here. He always seems busy2 points

Can always add a protein shake to your diet - also provides amino acids as well depending on what type of protein shake. I take it on the rigs to supplement my protein intake as some meals are just too oily for my liking.1 point

Stayed there for some or the majority of my last 5 or 6 trips.Thought it was alright for the money and location. No complaints from me.Then i just want somewhere cheapish and clean to pass out in.๐ Sounds like yet another of my former hotel's has been invaded by Indians.โน๏ธ1 point

My doctor said I eat too much vegies and fruit ... I got to leave some room for proteins. Last appointment he how I was doing on protein consumption. My first answer was what time is it; he said 1PM to which I replied that I have not had lunch yet and so was at 114%DV and with planned dinner I had calculated that I would end at 300%DV (without lunch) so fruit for lunch should be justified ... he agreed. I have to have my fruits or will go nuts (pun). Sunday I shopped for a weekly supply of fruits: 15 oranges an dozen large apples, 10 pairs, lots of Thai chili, a pine apple, plus more. Speaking of nuts Brazil nuts (my favorite) is 10%DV for 4 nuts (no sodium, no cholesterol, but high in "good" fat). That is my story and I will stick to it.1 point

Another brilliant decision! A few paces away from Villa Market in one direction, and a few paces from a good-sized 7/11 in the other.1 point

Personally I think they should knock down all the ocean side of Walking Street and turn the Avenue into a Nana type place and resettle them there.....1 point

Hello people, Moved over from the soon to be closed Secrets forum to this board. A little about me, Dutch single guy living in Amsterdam. First trip to Thailand was in 1998 and addicted to the country ever since. First 7 or 8 years backpacked around the country and been almost everywhere but once I discovered Pattaya that is the place I spend most of my time. I'm visiting Thailand twice a year, usually 3 or 4 weeks each trip. Next one up is in May and this will be a special one, my 50th birthday. I'm more of a lurker than a writer as I am not very confident about my writing skills but I have the intention to do a picture trip report next time... Anyway, looking forward discovering this board and hopefully meet up with some members in May.1 point

Back in 2000 I was working at the BAe plant at Woodford & I would go into Holmes Chapel from my digs in the evening for a feed & some ale. Always got the same cab back to my digs,an old Merc limo driven by a really nice old guy. One night he's going really slowly & I quickly realised it was because he wanted to tell me a story. He'd picked up a fare in Stoke for a return trip to Wembley & it turned out to be Gordon Banks, going down to Wembley for the closure of the old stadium. He said GB sat in the front & they chatted all the way down & when they got there he invited him to have lunch with him in the stadium. It was when they were selling off all the memorabilia & the old cab driver ate lunch sat between GB & Pele with all the other surviving legends also there. I thought it was a really nice story & showed Gordon Banks to be a really nice bloke. & a truly great goalkeeper!1 point

The answer, sir, is no. We are aware that the authorities do monitor all forms of media. Briefly under Thai law posting of nude photographs is unlawful.0 points
