Phil, just returned back home from my trip to Thailand and Kenya this past Friday night. Just wanted to say how enjoyable it was when I came into your bar a few times last month. Wonderful and attentive staff, very comfortable with the new sliding door keeping the warm air outside, great music videos and friendly ladies. Was also a real treat to run into Larry, Barsie and after more than 10 years since I last saw him in Secrets drunk as a skunk, that old ass licker himself, Jason L. Overall, great fun, tremendous value, top shelf camaraderie among fellow boardies who happen to be there at the same time or just with your customers in general. A fantastic time! Look forward to the next trip over, possibly in March. Hope you enjoyed the fudge. Cheers mate!4 points

How was Kenya ? i love the place. Wifey and i have always enjoyed ourselves in Phil's Le Pub, thats why we keep going back. The gals are a great friendly bunch and we always buy the ones that sit with us a few drinks for their company (wifey knows the score as she used to work in WS) Its a well run bar and always welcoming.3 points

Trying to attract new NFL fans on this forum, could lead to Evangelism. TFing everywhere. Worse than all the Association Football talk on here.2 points

The 'miss' rule is down to the referee's opinion as to if the player has made a good enough attempt to hit the ball, there is no set in stone limit. If the ref thinks you made a good effort and still missed your opponent can ask you to retake it if he don't fancy where the white has positioned. You can't call a miss if there is only the black left, and they won't call one if its an impossible snooker to get out of.2 points

Golf: A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. Engineer: What's with these guys? We must have been waiting for 15 minutes! Doctor: I don't know but I've never seen such ineptitude! Priest: Hey, here comes the greens-keeper. Let's have a word with him. Priest: Hi George. Say George, what's with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow aren't they? George: Oh yes. That's a group of blind fire fighters. They lost their sight while saving our club house last year. So we let them play here anytime free of charge! (silence) Priest: That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight. Doctor: Good idea. And I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist buddy and see if there's anything he can do for them. Engineer: Why can't these guys play at night?2 points

OK it’s kind of like I thought, referee has discretion. I have seen matches where there are 2-3 close calls, and then the player comes a little closer and a miss is not called. Really cruel snooker can be Anyway.....sorry to TF, back to the real football1 point

Damn I hate posting this. Hannah Witheridge, who was viciously murdered along with her friend on Koh Tao, her sister Laura passed after a quick illness. Almost 5 years to the day after her sister That poor family, I can’t even imagine.....RIP1 point

Err...NO, It's Thailand and nothing's done right. No permanent fixes etc. I used to drink with a Thai Man in Apple bar Jomtein and He was involved in City Hall and the expenditure. His English was very good and He'd say 'corruption and cheap labour' right through the Government here. His words.1 point

Wasn’t it Bugsy Siegel who financed the first casino in Vegas by selling over 400% in stakes from his “investors” ? Didn't end so well for him Enjoyed the movie though1 point

Jesse Palmer was on SportsCentre and said bluntly Big Ben, as we knew him, is done career wise. He can get the surgery and heal up, but his arm will never be as potent. Turning 38 in March, I wish him the best but no shame in hanging it up with the career he’s had. I was shocked by Luck’s retirement. But more players are very spooked by the whole CTE thing, and who can blame them? Over 100 brains have been dissected from ex NFLers, and 99% had signs of the disease. Pretty conclusive to me. Calvin Johnson was another guy who could have put up crazy stats for years to come, but stepped away at age 30. It can’t be easy turning down an extra $50, 60, maybe $100 million+ just to help make sure you have all your marbles into your 60’s and on. Either way, there are no guarantees1 point

European football back, and they do Monday/Friday night EPL games on European weeks as well. I love the World Cup and the Euros, but International qualifying weekends do my head in, boring as f**k. Wed looks best, have either PSG V Real, or Atletico V Juve. Haven't decided which i'll watch yet.1 point
