  1. Yeah, shoot the motherfucker responsible, and end it there. No excuse for shooting up a mall other than being a c**t.

  2. I was recommended this Rockmeburger place by a mate who was staying in the adjoining hotel. It didn't disappoint. This was 300g of Aussie meat with bacon, duck egg, cheese and the other sides. Washed down with a large glass of craft ale.

  4. "..so this was a life changing loss to him" And a life ending loss for the innocent victims. The blame lies solely on the shooter IMO. Candy coating it as he was screwed over by the government justifed his actions? I am not buying it.

  7. My oldest son hangs out in there every weekend with his classmates. School is just around the corner. Knew my Mrs was collecting a phone from there yesterday morning. Had a really horrible few hours yesterday evening trying to call and nobody answering but eventually got through. Everyone fast asleep in bed didn't hear me call. !!!! Wrote before how much I can't stand the place ...... shooter is dead now and 26 lives gone with him. Tragic how life can change in a second R.I.P the innocent.

  8. I agree ,of course but then we probably wouldn,t even have had a thread on here about it. I believe if he had just shot his boss it would have been forgotten today. He wanted the world to know why. Thats what he achieved by killing all the others. I,m not condoning it. I just believe he wasn,t crazy. What would we think if we had lost everything and the police didn,t want to know, and we were trained army killers. He,s dead as well now of course but its a sad day for thousands of innocent people today. Sent from my SM-J610F using Tapatalk

  9. Theres always more to a story. He was diddled out of 400,000bt over a house purchase from his boss, thats why he shot him and the motherinlaw. He lost the money and never got the house. He tried to get his money back through the more usual channels but his boss was too powerful and no one could or would help him. He wasn,t from a rich family so this was a life changing loss to him. He would have known he was to die himself so was probably making a message for worldwide mefia attention hence the Facebook posts. RIP for all the poor innocent folk who lost their lives and commiserations to their families but this incident in my opinion is down to Thailands corrupt society and the misuse of power that the current government are supposed to be stamping out. 12. Sergeant major is about the highest non-commissioned officer rank and comes de facto with a lot more responsibility than the lowest commissioned officer ranks.

  13. Today's update on the shrinking Mabprachan Reservoir. As before, here's the Google Earth view of today's route and picture taking spots. Pic 01: Not much movement, if any of the shoreline from the last update 12 days ago. Pic 02: However definitely more land that was previously underwater is now exposed. Pic 04 They now have a pump ready to pupmp water over a land bridge so the pumping station farther north has access to what's left of the main body of trapped water. Guessing the water level is down another 1/2 meter from 12 days ago. Pic 05: Won't be long before that spit of land in the distance becomes a land bridge all the way across the north end of the reservoir. On the left side of the pic you can see how the main body of water is now cutoff from the channel that leads to the pump station by another land bridge heading to the north. I don't know why they don't get an excavator in and cut a channel through rather than pumping the water over. Pic 06: Since the channel into the pumping station is now on higher ground than the main body of water to the south, they had to build a retaining wall and now have to pump the water into the pond. The gate was unlocked so had a peak at the pumps in the pumping station. Pic 07 Pic 08 Pic 09: A few puddles of water left on the north end, but no way to get it to the pumping station. Pic 10 Pic 11 Pic 12 Pic 13 Pic 14: If I had wanted to, I could have rode my mtn bike from this side of the reservoir over to the other side using the land bridge in the center of this pic. Pic 15: Instead I rode out the spit of land a bit farther south. View to the north while standing on land that was underwater 12 days ago. For comparison, pic 19 in the screenshot below was how far I could ride my bike out on 28 January. Pic 16: The intake water line for the retention pond on the southwest corner of the reservoir is really having to extend out to get to the main body of water now. Pic 17: I was told by someone that lives in the area this retention pond and pump house is used to supply water to the new Flowerland tourist trap. Probably in another month or so all the tourists will see for their entrance fee is a bunch of wilted flowers.

  15. Without doubt there are fewer tour groups from Mainland China. The tour groups would now appear to be coming from India. Quite a few Russian tourists around.

  18. A Sergeant Major is in the Non Commission Ranks and that rank is near the top of the NCO ranks. Those ranks do not have Commissioned Officers... that is the Officer's Corp. His rank would have given him access to areas where other low ranking NCOs would not have. A Sergeant Major would also be authorized to have access to most areas and also have the right to draw keys to access those areas and also some vehicles. cheers

  19. Sergent major (doesn't exist in France) would be after sergent chef. Not soo high . I remember from my days that live ammo drills were something serious. Weapons held in the armory , need to be signed for, returned, ammo counted etc... And I know from my son, that nowadays it is even more procedurial. We're speaking peace time in a standard military base in your own country. No idea about Thai army, but still it surprises me. On the other hands cops have their (loaded) gun in the drawer of their desk.... so who knows ?

  20. Even in peacetime an army has to train for war, which requires the use of firearms. This guy was by all reports a high ranking NCO,a Sergeant Major, who probably would've had access to these weapons. With his rank comes responsibility which was obviously misplaced.

  23. Well if the shooter had stopped after taking out the people that had screwed him over then the rampage would have made more sense....I not sure what going to the mall and shooting more was supposed to accomplish?

  24. Emerald blue, crystal clear water, white powder-fine sand, dense jungle on one side and islands at a distance - Tanjung Rhu Beach is without any doubt the best among the beaches of Langkawi. And, a cherry on top, it's not crowded! the area is absolutely secluded and the atmosphere is silent and peaceful. At around 11 am in the morning, we went to visit the beach and it was too hot at that time. Generally, the weather in Langkawi is hot throughout the year, and on such a sunny day with scorching heat from top, it became too difficult for us to even attempt a maiden stroll at the shoreline 😞So, recommendation for all of you, who can not bear the heat and hot temperature, please do visit this amazing beach at early hours of the day i.e. early morning or just before sunset. And, OMG! can you imagine how it would be like to witness sun-set on a scenic beach view like this 🙂We wish, we had that in mind and scheduled our visit accordingly 😞 but nevertheless, more reasons to comeback to Langkawi again 🙂Tanjung Rhu Beach is a public beach, open 24 hours and entry is free for everyone. Part of the beach is private and separated by a fence, belonging to Tanjung Rhu Resorts. There are few shops, cafe's and restaurants on the beach and you can find small huts, umbrellas, bean bags and benches there with all sort of hot and cold beverages, smoothies and shakes, snacks and local Malaysian cuisine. We recommend you to try the delicious Coconut Ice Cream Shake at this beach, because that was one of the best shakes we had in Malaysia.

  30. I confess to buying the pizza ready made. As a kid, spinach was the source of strength for Popeye but still had a bad press because it was frequently over cooked and bitter tasting. I stir fry fresh spinach for a couple of minutes with garlic, tasty.

  37. I've been involved in aircraft maintenance for a very long time & there is a shear pin in the towing arm which will break if say the aircraft brakes are on,to save damage to the nose leg. For that reason there should always be someone riding brakes should the shear pin go.I've done it & been there when it's happened. Either there was nobody on brakes, there was someone & he/she was asleep or playing with their smartphone or there was no hydraulic pressure to the brakes.

  38. Over on PA, BM striderman gives regular reports of paraglider activities as a indication of how busy Pattaya is. Latest report is out of 11 platforms only two are now active due to the ban on travel from China. It's also quite noticeable the drop off in the number of tour buses on the road. I say long may it last.

  39. I went for a walk early one morning and saw the same .... hundreds of Chinese tourists , along beach road you can see the coaches dropping them off and picking them up , the police were even out stopping traffic to allow them to cross safely - the tour guides giving them a safety briefing with a loudhailer, then the boats coming coming in to drop some off and load up the next lot ... it was like Dunkirk
