  1. So wifey and I finally made it to Lake Tahoe to see and experience the snow. First time ever for her, I had not been to the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the Winter since 1993. 4 hour drive from my home, the last hour is the best as you get into the Mountains. Pulled into Harvey’s Hotel/Casino for a 6 night stay. Nice place, reasonable at $90 per night for a King Bed, Standard Room, 9th floor view etc. Great Sports Bar for breakfast in the morning. The tale of 2 weather patterns over 6 days, first 2 days, 25 and 27 degrees ( -3 and -2.7 C) then warming to 44 degrees ( 6 C) over the last 4 days. Nights were brutally cold after the sunset. Rachanee was a “gamer” though, thermals, goose feathered jacket, sharks beanie, gloves and snow boots and she is ready. Don’t want to bore you with all the things we did, but a trip around the lake, over to the North Shore to explore a bit and small hike, over to Incline Village where all the rich people have their homes were all things we did. But several highlights were as follows: The Gondola ride up to see the lake at 10,000 feet ( 3,048 meters) is a must, then an additional 2,000 feet ( 609 meters) to watch these young guys ski/snowboard was fun………..23 degrees ( -5 C) will check your ego at the door LOL! Damn…….luckily clear and cold and no wind. Snowmobile riding was first time for me too. Never did this before and sorry I missed this all those years ago. $200 for 2.5 hours, included 30 minutes with a guide who taught you the right way not to kill yourself LOL! Then he leads 10 of us on a 2 hour, 16 mile drive deep into the “motherlode” of the Sierra Nevada’s. This was just outstanding, with several stops along the way for photos etc. I had no idea how fast 40 MPH ( 60KM) is on one of these. These things get real fast, real easy. Rachanee asked me if she could drive the final hour? I was hoping she wouldn’t ask. She took the lesson like all of us, she did go much slower though. My biggest concern was she was going to go off some ravine in 200 feet of snow, no one would notice we were gone from the group, they would find us next May when the snow melts, looking like a couple of frozen popsicle sticks LOL! She did well though and we made it back safely. Night time activities? Well it should be obvious, buffet dinners, had a great meal at Montbleu Casino with Chinese Food, then what else but drink and gamble a bit. Told Rachanee I was going to give her $100 per night to gamble…….her eyes lit up like a Christmas Tree! She has fun with it, one night at Hard Rock she wants to “throw the dice” OK….get to our turn at the table, good crowd, $10 min, puts $20 on the pass line, rolls a “Nine” so the point is 9 right? Previous to this she asked me why this one guy keeps yelling “33”? She said no 33 on the board. I told her that the point was 6, then if he rolls a “hard 6” which is both dice have to come up 3 and 3..he not only wins on the pass line for hitting his point, he also gets 9 to 1 payout, for this for rolling 3 and 3. She gets ready to roll on her 4th roll right? She yells out “Gao” the stickman and the pit boss look at me and I tell them “Oh, that’s Thai language for 9” They both laughed. 2 rolls later she rolls a nine and wins another $20….she was happy and so was the rest of the guys who played pass line or the field. By far, Hard Rock Casino had the best looking girls working there, there were 2 Philipino gals dealing Blackjack that were pretty fine for sure. The Casinos are pretty cool letting you take pics inside, just no pics allowed anywhere near the gaming tables, but anywhere near the slot machines are fair game with no hassles. Security guys helped us take a few pics….cool dudes. On Friday night we hit “Opal” nightclub at Montbleu Casino, $15 cover for guys, girls get in free. No cameras allowed as they have topless Go Go dancers who not all night, but at some points in the evening, drop their tops for a song or two. Security guys are cool, check your camera in for you no charge. This Fri evening was “80’s funk/disco” night” Play that funky music…white boy…..right up my alley LOL! Forgot how good all those tunes sounded….especially buzzed! Nice looking girls doing bottle service and a good crowd of ladies over all there. Crown Royal and Seven Up was $15 per drink well poured, wifey had Corona at $12 per. Great trip and Lake Tahoe still fun after all these years.

  2. Nowhere near to conclusion. Long stretches of the road surface still to be completed, let alone work below the surface which must be completed before the road surface can be completed. Also large quanitities of water which somehow will have to be drained away.

  3. OK so we are nearly 8 months on since my last post on Codes thread here. (hope you don't mind BTW). And since Krapow asked me to update I will. First I will Will say this..... I've slapped a woman for the first time in my life. Not proud of it and don't want to repeat it but did it only to shock and not to cause pain. Second, here's a monetary list of what I know I've had to pay out over the last couple of years because of living in the same house as a crackhead. This list does not include the £1000s my 79 year old mum has shelled out to the dirty little cnut. BTW, this is about my niece and not intended to upset any bm on here or anywhere who's had an addiction themselves. 1) my Audi taken without consent (both sets of keys were with me in Sweden but she found a plastic clone key within my Audi handbook). She was arrested on the M62 in West Yorkshire at 3 am for having no insurance. My car was recovered and I had to travel via taxi to Bradford to get it back. I found out about this whilst in Sweden so you can imagine the costs!!!!..... £60 taxi fare. £370 to release my car. £750 worth of damage to both drivers side doors and wing which required 2 new doors and a re-spray. Interior was like a pig sty with pot noodles and vomit stuck to the carpets. Valet cost £20. Total = £1200. 2)an old BMW of mine sold by her whilst I was away on holiday. No log book left for me and of course the speeding fines etc came to me. That was sorted by writing to the dvla and the Lancashire Constabulary. Car was sold for £375 and I didn't receive a penny. Total =£375. 3)car recovery of the above said BMW when she decided to nick my keys and go hunting for her fix and got arrested again. Total =£214. 4)tried to learn my lesson whilst visiting my wife in Sweden for new year. Hid my car. Any monies banked etc. Got home early February to find my brand new hair clippers missing £40.Barbour jacket missing (newish) £200.my Xmas gift from my mother missing, bottle of whisky and wine £20. Total =£260. The above doesn't include what I've given her just to get her out of the house for peace and quiet. So just over £2000 of my savings and she doesn't give a shit. I'll leave it here for now. Next installment is the abuse of my mother and visits from plod. Like Krapow has said. Tough love should have been applied long ago but it's not easy to apply. I've had advice from the police and Age Concern and it looks like the next step is to serve my neice with an injunction to stop her visiting our address.... Will she take notice.... Not a chance.

  4. It is surreal here in Korat at the moment, everyone obviously is in a state of shock, and feeling numb. The emergency services worked miracles to treat the injured, a friend of mine's step-daughter worked 32 hours, non-stop at A&E... One story,a victim who was shot in the arms, chest and cheekbone, they desperately tried to save the patient, but their efforts were in vain, to compound this, the victim was a co-worker, who was off-duty. . This is her story............. "Until the story goes But everything is still buried in the heart Thank you to everyone who understands the profession. We understand doctors, nurses, elder employees. Put the whole body into taking care of some patients. 16+ + haven't sleep yet. Thanks to all the behind the scenes like the Foundation. # Metta # Hook 31 will say that you guys are awesome. Waiting to send the injured Staying all day, all night, can't sleep and can't sleep. Ready to help everyone fully. The background is really tiring. Also the psychiatric brothers and sisters In the field of healing of relatives and patients Like in the case of one younger person being shot in the leg Nong being shot with mother Mother Nong, who is a member of our hospital Was shot in the cheekbones, arms, chest. This case shouted in front of the ER and the patient Arrest ran together to help open the line, pumping the electrocardiogram, injecting blood, pumping blood, pumping the pulse to the best of its ability. After looking clearly at the face again, everyone was shocked when they came to know that we are a staff member of our hospital. Go to the operating room urgently In which the youngest daughter was seen mother shot You are in a state of shock, cry, scream. 'Shoot mother, why is my mother? Why do you have to shoot the mother rat '? Curse the brat with crying. The elder team helped to comfort him and take care of him until he calmed down. At that point, he couldn't say anything much. Meaning it's the point of sadness and wanting to cry But must be humbled Pump the patient at the same time 2 cases The brothers and sisters, professionals, who are stuck in the mall for many hours Can't come out and work together because they're shocked with the situation Meaning the mind is very depressed Must breathe light to survive Squeeze everyone's heart The brother from SWAT is not sure what to call. But saw the written sleeve You are patient. Have to change clothes to see the wound His brother was shot in the leg, despite taking off his tight pants and being careful of the wounds. But he was patient with the pain I wish you get well soon. Everyone helped quickly. And go to every surgery room urgently I wish you from Arintharat to disappear soon. We have helped the best. And the case of our friends Big bike boy in black The courage of all friends is well known. Patience, friends, friends must disappear. Thank you, my friend, Arkadas Mary, 29, who helped me. The most important encouragement The background of patient counting Count the number of deaths It doesn't count as easy as you think. The team must identify patients to whom it is. Is it really true? Where to examine the wound, how much where it hit, how many shots must support the emotions of the relatives Work is rushing but cannot be missed. So tired But we have passed it very well, have to make a death certificate, the history of the deceased, even the history of the 'coughing a brat' that just saw the name, do not want to do anything anymore And very sad, Kesai Litter found the body in the car, there was a mark being shot. Relatives came to find it because I could not contact since yesterday to ask the hospital if the patients come here. Hey ......... Black patient since seen. Relatives cried until we pacified as well. Although it has been through the torture of many of us already But there is still a generous stream to offer rice Providing uninterrupted water From the day of the incident # classcafe came in to give coffee to all the staff. Not missing a job at all Korat brothers who will help to donate blood. Hi, come and ask how to accept the donation. Thank you very much everyone. And today Korat brothers donate many boxes of rice, water, sweets. Tears will flow. Everyone is really cooperating together. Thank you everyone, Korat people do not leave each other. Just want to vent the emotions that are inside for everyone to listen. Our behind the scenes" # savekorat 🖤 Given time, I hope Korat will recover from this ordeal...

  9. Today marks six months that I have been smoke free! Looks like I've made it to halfway - I wouldn't consider myself as someone who's given up unless I go through at least a year. This is mainly because I still get the urge once in a while and I have to work hard to overcome that. This only tells me that smoking is probably amongst the most habit forming activities known to man and giving up is far tougher than I thought it would have been - however, I haven't slipped yet, so onwards and upwards to a year without the killer... 11. It is very sad that it took 30 deaths to bring open in the public one of many Thailands shady deals by one of it's powerfull institutions (amongst several others). Let's hope that the Thai people will not let this being brushed under the carpet. A good start is this B.P. opinion piece (read the comments ..) https://www.bangkokpost.com/opinion/opinion/1855434#cxrecs_s And this one, a clear admission of guilt. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/1855334/dont-blame-army

  18. No mention of ending corruption in the latest news release paying lip service to the problems plaguing Thai society... Morality studies get thumbs up The Education Ministry will be asked to amend the school curriculum by increasing study hours for religion and morality to reduce violent incidents plaguing society. The proposal is being prepared by the House committee on religion, art and culture which yesterday discussed research findings which link violent behaviour with anti-social activities online. More time learning about religion, morality and culture at school should help overcome this problem and "we've agreed that students at all levels should spend at least 80 hours a year on these subjects," committee chairman Suchat Usaha said. ... I've always been of the opinion subjects such as morality, respect, and other social skills are best taught at home, and by the parents setting a good example of how one should lead their life.

  21. I agree with you except on that one point. Basically nothing will change in the long term, short term things may be said and some people will be thrown under the bus to try and satisfy the media but it will go back to how it was sure as night follows day, too many have their snouts in the trough for it to die out and those that are left after the 'purge' will carry on as before.

Cliff, I gave up 50-70 rollies a day 10years ago,i just stopped cold, there was times in first few weeks in a service station/shop close to home I would have been back on them. easier for me because I live on me own,no smoking in the clubs/pubs here so it was a lot easier to stop, now you would be looking at 200aud a week to smoke same amount I did back then. I still don't allow anyone to smoke in my home or car. hope you can give them up mate,i still miss that first smoke in the morning with a nice strong cuppa.sitting out the back as the sun comes up,birds singing, mossies driving ya mad. 32. Correct- all you have to do is compare the number of deaths as a result smoking cigarettes to the deaths caused from vaping in the past year. No brainier to the vape naysayers.

  33. How I quit smoking, was i turned to vaping.. in 2012.. These days, the nicotine liquid available can be higher strength, ie. 24,36 & 54mg - this is called 'Salts' Quite simply, the higher mg of nicotine inhaled, the less cravings the user will have, also less puffs will be required..(unless you want to be dizzy) Also these high strength liquids are easily available in LOS, coupled with the ecig device called a 'Pod', which are more smaller, compact.and easy to fill.

  37. Holy cow I’m happy to be single.i remember my ex Pinay giving me so much sh-t for being late to our first V-Day. We had met the previous Labour Day, but I was working at a warehouse with ten hour shifts and lots of overtime I wasn’t allowed to refuse. She treated me so well, but would flip out at some stuff that I found trivial, and that was one of them. She claimed that back home it was almost like a national holiday for couples. Whatever.....I was 25 and trying to get a down payment together for our house. Didn’t realize it was such a big deal

Hell there could be a competition in whoever rocks the bed long and keeps the sign illuminated gets a beer on the house for all the hard work!!! 🤣🤣🤣 (I’m laughing too hard right now)....there should then a leaderboard downstairs in the bar for bragging rights LOOOOL

  43. Wing Cdr Farnes, the last of the Few https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-51306750 " The last surviving Battle of Britain ace pilot from World War Two has died aged 101. Wing Cdr Paul Farnes was among the 3,000 airmen - The Few - who defended England's skies in 1940. He died at his home in Hampshire on Tuesday morning, the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust said. Paying tribute, it described him as "distinguished man - who was generous with his time in support of the trust" The trust added Wing Cdr Farnes was the last member of The Few fit enough to be able to attend the aerial conflict's memorial day in 2019. It said he had "proudly" represented his RAF colleagues at the service of commemoration just a week before his 101st birthday, in July. The trust said Wing Cdr Farnes was "very proud" of his Distinguished Flying Medal (DFM), which he received for his exploits in the Battle of Britain. His tally was six enemy aircraft destroyed, one probably destroyed and six damaged, the trust added. In 2015, the then retired Sqn Ldr described the "moving" moment he and his comrades were spontaneously applauded during a service at Westminster Abbey to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Mr Farnes, who flew a Hurricane during the war, said: "It was very emotional today because, when we walked out of the abbey, the audience applauded and it's never happened before at the annual service and I was very moved by it. "It is amazing that the Battle of Britain has caught on with the public and I am very proud to have been a part of it." Mr Farnes joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in 1938, later joining RAF No 501 Squadron and fighting in the Battle of France in 1940. After the Battle of Britain, he was commissioned as an officer and served as an instructor and fought in Malta with No 229 Squadron as well as serving in North Africa and Iraq. As World War Two ended, he was in command of two squadrons in the UK. Remaining in the RAF until 1958 when, having been appointed Sqn Ldr, he retired, retaining the rank of Wing Cdr." R.I.P

  45. OK my Sweden /Thailand /Sweden trip is almost done. Heading home on Tuesday to try to clear up another mess associated with my drug addict neice. Had a call from my mother today (after she had calmed herself down) and an Asian taxi driver turned up at the house demanding money for an unpaid taxi fare by my neice. She's done this on numerous occasions BTW so nothing fresh there. But what pissed me off was the reaction of the driver to my mother. Shouting and screaming and then kicked the glass panelled front door so hard that's it cannot now be opened or closed. When my gutsy old mum confronted the guy... Threats made about making sure she watches her house!!!! Police called and want to speak to my neice aswell as my mother. Now I know it's not my neice fault that this idiot of a taxi driver decided to cause criminal damage and threaten a 78 year old woman but it would never have happened if she hadn't done a runner from the taxi. I'll update on Thursday after I've found out what the police have advised and after I've visited the taxi office owner and hopefully the offending driver. New front doors aren't fxxxing cheap you know.
