  1. Just got home from work. Was a good day. Had the wild turkeys come in for lunch. Theres a group of about 30 that show up every day for breakfast lunch and dinner as the homeowner feeds them dried corn. Then as I was leaving we had Fred the bald eagle stop in to check out the fish pond. They have 25 or so ( depending on Fred and his wife ) trout that are a good 20 inches long. But they are still pretty much dormant on the bottom of the pond as it's still damn cold. Then when I finally got into town I got stuck in a doggone traffic jam behind a buck going about a quarter mile an hour. It's pretty hard to come up with anything to really complain about around here. I've got a really nice place to call home. This is Fred from the deck eyeballing the fish pond. It's a little after 5pm so the light is pretty bad. This angle is from the driveway heading out to the highway. The house in the background is where I'm working. Then I get behind this guy just trodden along without a care in the world. F##king tourists. just another day in the mountains.

  2. They continue like that and in 1 month ALL international travel is banned, all cruise ships are banned, all container transport is dead, etc.... And wait till someone declares it can be transmitted by water.... no more drinking, no more shower... Can we still breath ? FFS, next step is Africa or India jumping in this madness..... Because, well, its not like there are no Chinese there ? Meanwhile, a glass of wine and lunch at the beach and f**k all this shit.

  3. We had hashbrown casserole with salmon and baby asparagus with garlic and cheese. The GF totally nailed it on this one. Sorry about the poor photos of the salmon. They just didn't photograph as well as they tasted.

  4. Gal, watch the thai women play W.I. on Saturday, their first twenty-20 WC, they seem to to want to play every shot to the legside, they lack muscle in their batting. but game wee buggers got a couple of headhigh full tosses and stood their ground and played the hook ok. also they want to get on on the front foot a lot.have a go at every ball but lack serious bat power a lot of ex softball players that a coach seen and got to come over try out for cricket. think its 8 of them out of the touring 15 are on fulltime contract. a couple of good looking "toms" in the bunch. the skipper is a the hard looking lady would not liked to get on her wild side, tough looking lady. regards grayray PS the English ladies should win by a street

  12. I thought I was nailed on to beat you in the H2H especially as you were starting on - 12 points. I've got a misfiring Vardy in my team and both him and Van Dijk hit the woodwork. Even if they had scored I don't think I could have caught you.

  16. Kuwait are a few days late as tens of thousands of people have left Kuwait over the last few days. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are days off due to national day and liberation day. Many locals and expats took Sunday and Monday off so they could have an extended holiday. Those tens of thousands will be coming back from European and Asian countries this coming Friday and Saturday.

  22. I left the UK 2 weeks ago, and must admit I was pretty dismissive of this then. However, it is now becoming a bit worrying. It might be problematic getting home, and I could end up being quarantined when I get there, plus I might not be able to get back to LOS in May to renew my retirement "visa" are figuring in my thoughts!

  23. sadly. life wise, I predicted that indoa will be the next big one. unlike thailand, cleanliness there is at a low level, poor hygeine. if it hits india, which it has to at some point, then it will spread like wild fire.. india, pakistan etc, it would be atomic in size

  25. That's my concern too.... An enforced extended stay has all sorts of implications for me.... Visa expires, contract on accomodation expires, travel insurance expires... plus I have things to do in the UK!

  26. About 98% of the customers at the 100s of Indian restaurants in Pattaya are Indians.....They could not survive with out Indians even for a short period of time..........Farangs have already written off the Indian restaurants and their high prices years ago.... A India ban would be unthinkable....

  27. Yes, it seems implausible that India does not have any cases, given their citizens travel widely around Asia.

  28. Pattaya Water Reservoir at Mapprachan Lake at lowest level in twenty years Interesting stat from the article... "the reservoir hit the lowest level in twenty years at 16% left of the total volume of the lake", I think that's a fair estimate of what usable water remains. I call BS on this statement though, "local leaders say the volume of water they have is enough to last through May when more rain is predicted" At current consumption levels I expect the reservoir to run out of usable water by mid-April, if not sooner.

  30. Outstanding narratives, well done. Sadly, never made it to AC, but back in 1992 on a business trip to Manila, the locals took me to Makati. Some great looking girls there, but even though I was surrounded by Philipino co-workers, I never felt safe there, unlike Thailand. Seems to me I was getting the "stink eye" from a lot of the local guys. Maybe I was over reacting. They took me to "Baguio City" up in the mountains one week-end. That was nice. Nice people the Philippines. Great report.....

  32. It’s because he has a big head and traps off about how awesome he is......if he was so awesome he would be getting younger girls without paying a bean. I also remember him saying said the reason he moved to Thailand was because he couldn’t get any chicks in the US that ‘wasn’t obese’ despite his cash and awesomeness 🙄 he needs to make his mind up ffs..... Most of us here do/have paid for hookers and it is what it is so we are in no position to have any moral ground over anyone else. It’s just his incessant boasting about how awesome he is that deserves ridicule. I get that you are his mate, but sorry where I see someone spouting bollox I’m going to take the piss out of them despite who they are friends with. The moral of the story is get it quietly and don’t mouth off despite how awesome and successful you think you are 🙄

  34. Time for the bi-weekly update of the shrinking Mabprachan Reservoir. As before, for reference purposes a screenshot of where the pics were taken. Water Edge as of 23 Feb, 2020 Pic 01: Quite a few more tree stumps exposed. Pic 02 Only a small gap now in the land bridge. Pic 03: Estimate another 1/2m drop in the water level. Probably the last time I can use this spot as a water level gauge since it looks like in another week there'll be dry land around the structure. Water Edge as of 23 Feb, 2020 Pic 04: Innovative use of a boat's pontoon for a bridge. Pic 05: Pumps moving water from the main body to the channel leading to the pumping station. Pic 06: Thai's manning the pumps were quite helpful directing me under the outflow pipes to make my way across the land bridge. Pic 07 Pic 08: The gap in the land bridge looks a bit too deep to cross. Pic 18: And indeed it was too deep. When I was on the other side of the reservoir noticed a couple of guys crossing the gap. Both were in over their heads and had to swim to the other side. Pic 09: With most of the reservoir dried up decided to take a shortcut across what was previously lake bottom to the pumping station. Looking back towards the pumps. Area to the right is the wide mouth to the channel leading to the pumping station. Noticed another group on mtn bikes making their way across the land bridge. Pic 10: Two weeks ago they had an earth retaining wall around the pumping station and were pumping water from the channel into the small pond it contained. They must have dug the channel deeper as now the pumps are gone and the retaining wall is open on both ends. It was a mistake trying to cross the narrow bit in the above pic. Took a tentative step into the wet area and immediately sunk to mid-calf. Decided I might as well continue on and fortunately I didn't sink any deeper. Pic 11: Nice of them to leave the pumping station gate unlocked again for me. Pic 12: Looks like these guys have started a fish farm. Doesn't look like much change in the water level in this area from two weeks ago. Maybe looking at the top of the water table, in which case as long as they don't bring pumps in, they should continue to have water for their fish. Pic 13 Pic 14 Pic 15 Pic 16 Pic 17 Pic 19 Pic 20 Pic 21: The pump house in the above pic is now drawing its water from a pipe that extends a long way out to the main body of water. They might be thinking of holding the pond in reserve for when the reservoir runs dry. As mentioned in a prior post, this water is being used for the tourist trap, Flower Land. Seems to me to be a pretty selfish use of a public use/need commodity that is fast becoming scarce. Pic 22: A stark reminder of just how much the water level has dropped.

  35. I would fear all the "precautions" more than the virus. Banned, flights cancelled , overzealous officials, quarantine, mass hysteria....that would kill my nerves much easier than the virus would kill me. Mao was right never to let his people out of the country, you see where we are now ? 😁😁😁
