Panic eating! FFS

I started the day by taking our 4 dogs out for a walk. It was only supposed to be the wee one and on a lead because she doesn't take one blind bit of notice what I say! The other three "go over the wall" several times a day on their own but the wee one doesn't like crossing the small stream at the back of the house. When they release sufficient water they have to swim across and back. But when I opened the driveway sliding gate the other three shot out and I ended up walking with the pack of 4 dogs. So I let the wee one ( who is medium size really) off the lead and our pack behaved surprisingly well. One of the dogs is a male, looks much like a German Shepherd and is most definitely the pack leader. The other male dogs in the area are scared shitless of him and disappear when they see him. Confronted by 4 dogs they beat all records. He is a lovely dog with a great temperament and not at all overtly aggressive. Which really sums up our 4 dogs as a whole all of whom are former Soi dogs. Thai's are amazed by this farang walking a dog on a lead. The women think it is sweet and they all smile at me. They have seen me often with the one dog but walking with a pack of dogs came as an even bigger surprise. They must think I am a "dog whisperer" .🤣 Going fishing this afternoon. Changing tactics by starting at 2pm and fishing untill its dark. I wondered why I virtually had the lake to myself in the mornings until I discovered the locals don't arrive until about 2.30 when thanks to the tall trees the lake ever increasingly is in shadow. There is also the attraction they do good food and sell large bottles of cold beer when I have had enough. Be safe out there.

Thanks for all your kind comments everyone. I’m sitting in the bar now looking around and it’s a bit sad really. I turned off all the fridges a few days ago and now I’m locking away all the computers and valuables just in case somebody breaks into the bar and steals them. It’s obviously an indication that I don’t see me opening for a few weeks yet. Although my crystal ball has stopped working. The real problem is not about being for bidden to open, that may change pretty soon, it’s the fact that the airlines are all grounded and it’s almost impossible to get here as a tourist. Add to that the fact that most ex-pats are going to be very careful about spending money, many have lost in shares, bitcoin and of course the fluctuating currency markets. All of it’s sad really, although I don’t want you all to think about is getting me down because I’m really enjoying the time off at the moment. I can last for a few months and I have a good landlord. Be careful about taking at face value some random guy's post on Twitter and reposting without some link to collaborate the information. In this case my BS meter pegged as I would find it inconceivable that once a patient was on respirator they would remove it to give to someone else. The news in Spain is not good, and with a little bit of searching I found an article that might explain this guy's uninformed post. Spanish hospital workers on frontline of coronavirus crisis: “This is the war of our generation” Gabriel Heras, an intensivist at a hospital in Madrid, warns that a shortage of equipment could force doctors to make difficult decisions. “I read that Italian professionals are saying they are not going to attend to patients over 65, which sounds awful,” he says. “But if you only have one respirator, and you have to choose, we have to prioritize people with the greatest chance of survival. We haven’t reached that point yet, but we could get there and it will be very painful. The system is not going to be able to take in all the cases that are coming in.” So according to this article dated 22 March, they may have to consider triaging patients as to who gets access to life saving equipment, but they're not there yet.

I think this is one of those cases where the old fella was already ill and the virus quickly took what was left of the remainder of his life. The vast majority of deaths are similar if I understand correctly. May he and all those elderly RIP.

The Western Australian government has threatened that those who break quarantine or self isolation may be sent to "Camp Rottnest" where savage attack animals, more ferocious than the Eastern State drop bears, await. Received an email this morning from my renter. She and her dad who have been renting my house for the past eight years have both been put on work furlough until 6 April. She was asking for extension in paying the rent which I've agreed to. They've been excellent tenants, but as single mom I know she's been on a tight budget for years. A lot of people are, or will be in her same situation. Just hope these efforts to contain the virus work quickly and we start to see a drop in new infections in a week or two at the most.
