  1. Seeing as you asked . . . . . My (Thai ) wife and I have a small Company ( Engineering & Property Services Co Ltd ) based here in the Darkside. I'm an Engineer to trade, so have a reasonable understanding of how things "work". We have Thai staff ( as required to meet my Work Permit quota ), we have a Furniture Workshop / equipment store and we have trusted sub-contractors that cover all the trades that I can imagine you ever needing; which include :- Air Cons Glazing Ceramic Tiling Electrical Plumbing + water tanks, pumps et al I.T. Decorating - painting, papering etc. Curtains, blinds etc Granite & Marble ( and refinishing work ) Security safes Security doors Mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum fabrication Bespoke furniture General Building work Etc. etc All sub-contractors work under our ( my ) supervision. Where possible, we aim to provide a near European standard of work. We have been called out to replace a Bum Gun head. I've been employed as the Project Manager of a THB 35m+ house ( mansion ) build. These two jobs represent the two extremes thus far. Currently, we're upgrading the 2nd of 3 bathrooms in a ( Pattaya ) town house, due to start building some internal walls and replacement of old steel water pipes ( with PVC / PP-R ) in a 200 Sq.M Jomtien Condo renovation next week. Also in discussion regarding the revamping of a 3 storey shop-house bar in central Pattaya. We work on a straight forward "Cost + 20%". Labour day rates for various staff skill sets are declared up-front, as is my wife's and my day-rate. Quality materials are purchased at the best rate we can find. The work is done, the cost of materials and labour added-up, a 20% premium is applied ( Overheads, Profit Margin etc. ) and the total is what we ask you to pay. If the job goes well, you pay less. If we hit an unforeseen snag ( TiT ! ), we tell you, we fix it ( properly ) and you only pay what it costs ( + 20% ). The alternative is that you invite a contractor to Quote for the work; he Quotes for what he can see, + a huge contingency for what he can't see, but experience has led him to anticipate, + a profit margin. If the job goes well, you pay through the nose and he makes a killing. If the job goes badly, he has the option of covering-up any problems and walking away with a small profit, or doing it properly and making a loss . . . . unfortunately, the latter doesn't often happen. You will find cheaper than us, but I would like to think that, although more expensive, at the end of the day, we provide Value for Money. So, if you think we might be able to help, please give me a shout. Steve ( a.k.a. Proffesor ) 08221 68865 [email protected]

  2. I was surprised also ... there have only been 5 or 6 gals that have tried to steal from me ... but, those 5 - 6 put a stain on the rest of the gals .. all BKK gals too ... I can't really tell you how many BKK gals I have been with .. but, pretty many (no way am I bragging ) .. To their credit though ... I will say most are honest .. you send them to 7/11 for some cigs and beer they will come back .. give you back every satang they didn't spend ... pretty often they will bring food that you never asked for and never asks for baht back .. yea - I would say most are pretty good gals regardless why they freelance ... But .............. you gotta protect yourself .. so best to keep your "third" eye open We all get relaxed with the gals most of the time .. but, you can never let down your guard ... sad ... but true .... because there is nothing more I hate than a liar or a thief

  7. Based on the above you are the person I would probably use and you seem to have pitched it just right. I hope you are doing well as you come across as being open and honest and in a world which isn’t always that way, it’s reassuring to hear👍

  11. Every month I park opposite the Marquee whilst Sai keeps her appointment in the dentist. I am sure the same 2 or 3 guys are always the only customers but it is invariably 3:00pm which is hardly peak supping time. My mind invariably drifts to the days long ago when I was still at School and blowing my two paper rounds earnings when being taken to the Marquee in London's Wardour Street. If my memory serves me right, the Yardbirds, with Clapton, frequently played on a Thursday and the Who on a Friday. I have diminished hearing and I seriously blame Keith Moon's drumming in that very small venue. Where did all those years go?

  13. Same as Mabprachan, Huai Chak Nok is also slowly recovering, but still extremely low. Extra pump is no longer needed to get the water to the pumping station. I think this will make for a nice park once done, and with more water in the reservoir.

  17. I needed work done on my condo in 2016, and asked for recommendations on the Secrets board. A few people mentioned Steve, and I appointed him. It was a good decision. Steve is a 100% straightforward guy to deal with, and the quality of the (not so straightforward) work was excellent.

  29. Emirates are currently running at least 3 daily flights to Heathrow, the change was that the EK3 evening arrival changed from a Boeing 777 to an Airbus 380 on August 1st. EK1 at lunchtime is also an A380 while EK7 is still a B777 for now. Good to see the A380s back in use and hope they can fill them.

  30. My last ever train ride was Kings Cross to Edinburgh so that Sai could see the English/Scottish countryside. It just happened to coincide with the lambing season which was a big bonus if you have never seen a lamb before. One of my better decisions not to fly from Heathrow to Edinburgh. By booking in advance through trainline.com the cost of two first class tickets was much less than two standard price tickets.

  31. In some ways I want to save that for later but damn I want to hear it. Joe is badass, he also has such humanity it is sometimes hard to equate that with him no nonsense image Dammit, I'll give it a listen now. there will probably be an edit @30 min into this post. Edit, it took 26 mins. F*ck.That is some serious mis justice there, and it begs a question about US Law enforcement. Jesus.

  32. Code, true story, back in 2012 stayed up at the Shagwell hotel and got a bike taxi down to the beach, female rider so I wrapped me arms around her and held onto her titties, she pulled over to the side of the soi,and asked me"what you do?" I put on the little boy act andsay "I fighten miss" she says " ok but softly they are new" with a big smile on. next night I put one hand on her pussy, she just moves around so my fingers are covering the full mound, the next night she comes up to my room and jumps me bones, and enjoyed her for the next week till I went home, offered her a few thousand for loss of earnings she says "Lay I not bargirl" so I felt bad offering her money, because I have had a number "citizens ladies" not BGs over the years to know that it is offensive to offer money.when they are there because they enjoy your company, she even paid for our meal one night at Shagwell. looked for her in 2016 but she no longer worked taxi,my bad luck regards grayray

  34. I really hope the Marquee can survive, it's a great little bar with good prices, service and half decent food. Reports coming in from around town are not encouraging though, we're still a fair way from any light at the end of this tunnel. Xmas will be a non event, peak season will come and go like a fart in the wind, and the Junta will continue to fiddle while everything burns.

  35. I drive through Hua Hin .. all the time ... I have a place in BKK on Ramkhamhaeng pretty close to the motorway ... I don't have to deal with the "your nightmare " traffic getting to Sukhumvit soi 50 .. pretty easy for me to get on the expressway ... I don't care what anyone says .. and I have been doing this for years .. on Rama II .. about an hour and a half to the Ratchaburi .. Petchaburi split is f***d ... the toll booth is f***d ... a shit load of semi trucks .. sometimes you get lucky ... and the construction that has been going on over the last year makes it even more of a "night mare" The fastest I have ever made it to Hua Hin from BKK is about 3.5 hours ... and I am a demon driving down the express way in the Beast II ... I either stop in Pak Tho on the way to see a great friend .. or stop in Hua Hin or Cha AM .. depends on my mood .. sleep over night and then get back on the road to go back home to Beach Gal close to Pak Bara So this bullshit I read about a couple of times on this forum going from Patts to Hua Hin in 2 hours is pure fiction ... And taking the bus from Mo Chit is even more of a night mare ... just getting to Mo Chit can be huge problems if driving .. pretty easy though if you get on the BTS depending where you are coming from ... the sitting around and waiting on the bus , etc. takes to much time for me The train is not bad .. I always used to take the train all the time to see Jacques in Ban Krut from BKK at Bang Sue .. still more time than 3.5 hours .. depending on the train ( all of the milk stops .. LOL ) So, I read on this forum about getting around .. I just shake my head because it is a total crap shoot .. getting from A to B .. even in BKK which is notorious

Than again, they dont watch Fox or CNN ... But you know what ? They live much older than city people ..... VID-20200805-WA0003.mp4

  38. Oh, and a bit more up to date, I saw my first one of these today. It didn't stand out at all, totally anonymous looking, I walked right past it and got in my car next to it. Could have been any Jap/Koren mid-size SUV. Then as I looked over my shoulder before reversing out I thought, is that an Aston Martin door handle? Which indeed it was.

  40. OK...not "one"...but interesting. Years ago I worked for the Navajo Nation in the US Southwest...here's a few memories. Shiprock Elders gave me a tour remote & high elevation typical little "chapter" (aka village) Crownpoint, New Mexico Window Rock, AZ Meeting with the folks @ Crownpoint Memorial for US Military veterans. Many Navajos serve. Not just "code talkers"
