  1. There is an old lady that appears to be a little off her rocker I only see her when I go to the market .. she seems to sleep wherever ... and just rides her bike all day long Anyway, Ziggy and I were at the market this afternoon and we saw this old lady sitting on the curb crying her eyes out and stomping her feet .. acting kinda nuts ... Ziggy walks right up to this person and asks her what is wrong ..... I don't know what the lady said to Ziggy because whenever she says something to me it is all gobbly guck ... Ziggy tells me the tires are flat on her bicycle ... I tell Ziggy not to worry .. we will fix .... Ziggy gets this old lady to stop crying ... we walk a couple of blocks to this motor bike shop ( they always seem to be everywhere ) ... I sent a young guy at the motorbike store to go buy whatever he needed to fix this old ladys bike ... About 1 hour later .. the old ladys bike was fixed and she seemed happy ... I asked Ziggy how did she know this old lady .. she told me she always stops by moms flower shop and mom gives her a little baht to eat .... I told Ziggy good ...

This made me chuckle, we've just seen that 7-11 on the corner, been there for years, a couple of doors away around the corner a brand new hi-so 7-11, you can't make this stuff up..... Back to the road work going towards the gold Hanuman statue... Homeward bound via Friendship for me now, stay safe lads........

  3. Barely a cloud in the sky and that lovely coooool breeze still with us, where shall I wander too?.. Jomtien is not really for me but I jumped on the Baht Bus and got of at Soi Chaiyaphruek.... Now if your going to Jomtien Beach the baht bus (because of road works, pics later)goes up 2 nd rd, does a ''U'' turn and then goes down Soi 7 to the Beach Rd.....I doubt if many people needed to know that..lol... Start of with a quick look in Soi 21, no progress apparently, short on the square concrete manholes..... This is the pipe they are laying on 3rd rd... So today Soi 19 open, top of Soi 21 closed.... By Soi X Zyte..... New bar that recently opened and closed in Soi Chaiyapoon..... And this sad old place..Crazy Dave, Boars Head is now up for grabs again.... .

  9. Read this in the morning : People will be invited by letter to get their vaccine, which is being rolled out to the population through priority ranking. Once they have received their letter, they can log on to the NHS Covid-19 Vaccination Booking Service, where they will have a choice between a vaccination centre or a pharmacy

  11. Not really lunch or dinner but just a picture of an arrival from DHL. £20 for a 1.5 kilos of fresh chillies and £10 for a kilo of lemongrass. Now of course if she hadn't offered to bring stuff back from Thailand for 3 mates which took 15 kilos of Porn's baggage allowance she could have brought all that back for much cheaper. One mother sent Porn 10 kilos of paste for her daughter. Porn says she won't be making that mistake again.

  17. In the 1970's I did all of my own maintenance inc. changing two clutches in the street outside my parents home.I also stripped a Norton Commando engine down to the big ends in their coalshed....& it ran OK after rebuild. No Youtube in those days just a Haynes manual. I still change the oil & filter on my Harley and I changed the front discs & calipers recently but never do anything on my Merc or the wife's Nissan.

  18. Had to remove the instrument cluster from my Ford F150 for some repairs - replace a burnt-out bulb and re-solder a resistor connection - easy to remove from the truck but a bit of a pain to tear the cluster itself apart as you have to pull all of the gauge needles from their shafts to open it up; happily everything is working fine now it's back in the truck. Thanks to YouTube for providing the instructions...

  26. Just about to watch episodes 3 & 4 of the BBC series "Traces" I am indebted to "Galey" who mentioned this as I am hooked. Good cast and well acted and set much in Dundee a Scottish City I visited quite often almost always to watch the Hearts. As a football City Dundee is, as far as I am aware, unique in so much as Dundee and Dundee United have two stadiums virtually next to one another. Absolutely crazy!

  28. Had Colm Meaney in my cab for all of 30 seconds, his mate had a longer ride and was a producer from Vancouver. As soon as he entered I thought “ boy he looks familiar”. Struck me as a real gentleman, paid for his friend’s ride in advance. Was in Calgary filming Hell on Wheels I believe

  32. While everybody is focusing on what Europe or USA does or doesn't do I have been reading about China and how it is doing. Whatever you think about the origins of the virus and the obvious recriminations being banded about the Chinese are just getting on with it. It is what Asians are good at whether some like it or not. Pictures from Wuhan with people enjoying themselves or stories of cities where the virus has been spotted resulting in millions of people being tested in weeks should make good reading for those complaining about the life they have now. Stringent rules seem to have worked there and they are keeping on top of things, probably most Chinese are not even thinking about international travel as long as they can move around China. They have QR codes, green cards for moving around etc all to show whether they have been tested or to be traced should an outbreak occur. Maybe a lack of civil liberties is an issue here but in the midst of a pandemic extreme measures seem to be working in China. They are getting back to normal with a booming economy while all the western governments have pussy footed their way through the landscape of arguments from everybody with an opinion on what is best. No shutdowns of the border in over 10 months and just a token gesture now which again sees people complaining. We are a nation who has to deal with people who rue the fact they can't get on a flight out of the country, many who don't like to wear masks and laugh at those who do, there are also many who don't like to be restricted in what they do and complain about everything done by our government. Where are we right now, well basically in the crapper while China has turned the lights back on again. They look at us with shock as to how we have let it get like this. Just interested in watching how other governments deal with things; not saying any of them is correct but the status of the pandemic in differing parts of the world is testament to how their governments have dealt with things.

  34. Yes, modern vehicles are designed to keep owners' fingers out of because the dealerships make too much money from "servicing" them - this battery thing is a particularly maddening hindrance and IMHO should be illegal, there is no reason whatsoever why an owner should not be able to change his own battery or disconnect it to work on other electrical parts without having to pay the dealer for a code so he can restart the vehicle afterwards!! The vehicle I was working on is a 2007 F150 that I just bought a couple of weeks ago so I am learning as I go but it is still reasonably easy to work on with the help of YouTube videos - although one must choose them carefully; however, I am willing to bet that anything built in the last five years or so will be a different story altogether.
