I forget what year it was, but it was during Songkran his LT TGF was doing the throwing water thing in front of the bar on 3rd Rd when she was hit by passing traffic. Put her in a coma which I don't believe she ever came out of. Shortly after that he closed the 3rd Rd location and tried again at a different location on the darkside, which I just found searching my memory cells and with Street View's help. He then went on to try his luck in Subic Bay, opening Cowgirls. I believe it was still a going concern when he was killed in the motorcycle accident, that some speculate might not have been an accident.7 points

Up here in Udon Thani locals will rub kefir (lemon/lime) on exposed skin when in infested mosquito areas. Apparently mozzies hate citrus smell.4 points

The guy was a very regular customer in secrets but he had a strange business plan. He also opened up a go-go underneath Jasmine hotel I'm soy BJ off of walking Street. It didn't last very long he told me he had big plans for it before it opened one day when he was in secrets he said I get 3 months free rent and I can afford to lose 750000 baht if it doesn't work out. Well it didn't work out. I told him the third road location would never make it and I was right it was only there a short period of time. But he was a Tryer no doubt4 points

Another Thai craft beer, this one is supposed to be a Bohemian-style lager. I suppose by that they mean something like Budweiser Budvar that's readily available in the UK. I've drunk a few bottles, but it's never been high on my list of beers to buy. This Thai version makes a reasonable attempt at replicating the taste, at least from what I can remember of it, and if you're a fan of the genre it might even be quite good. I've tried it, and found it OK, but I won't be boing back for more.3 points

My bike shop will come to my house. Change my tires (I'm getting new high quality tires), adjust my gears and brakes for a minimal service fee. Cost peanuts, along with some good laughs from the folks who do it.3 points

Money saving tip #69. My favorite mosquito repellent has been Soffell in the small 80ml bottles. I was buying 12 at a time on Lazada for 756B (link). Last month I decided to save some money and buy 3L of Citronella (link) and refill the Soffell bottles. Seems to be working just fine as a repellent and a heck of a lot cheaper.3 points

It's spelled many different ways in English, but yes Kefir/Kaffir/Makrut. The leaves are actually the most prized product as they are one of the most used ingredients in Thai cooking, e.g., in Tom Yum and larb.2 points

My dad (bless his soul) ex Grenadier Guards during WW2 on his death we found all the sauce bottles and cans etc of food lined up as if on parade outside Buckingham Palace they were anything up to three years out of date. His dad was a miner up in Sheffield (and played football for a number of teams including Man U) and was very careful with money. It was a trend passed down to his Don (my dad) but despite my best efforts, not so effectively embraced by me (or Mrs TT!)2 points

Has to be a different owner group as the guy, a German, that opened Titty Twister on the darkside died seven years ago in a motorcycle accident in the Philippines. For a brief period of time he had Titty Twister 2 on 3rd Rd, but the business in that location struggled. Link to the new Titty Twister FB page https://www.facebook.com/TTPattaya/2 points

Anyone who's had one of those "public" moments. Mine was when we were in the Wine aisle at Tesco and my 3 year old daughter pointed at the wine and said "daddy's grape juice" very loudly...2 points

When I bought my first house I had carpet installed on the stairs. My mother came to inspect, bringing a friend. The friend, an elderly lady, advised walk up the stairs on the left side and walk down on the opposite side, saying the carpet will last twice as long.2 points
