  2. I got a call at the gym from her yesterday right? She tells me her and the Security Guard helped her remove some of the old water and put in fresh water. Then she tells me she found a way to keep the sun out...she told me I will see it when I get home without having to move the entire bowls into the garage area....as you can imagine, this is an engineering marvel the rest of the world should follow LOL! It is so fucking hot here now, the silver paint is peeling off the railing in front of the house....I told her she should call the guy who does maintenance here at the house....she looks at me and says "Well....can't you just re-paint it"? I won't tell you what I said to her....

  7. Since discovering Wise many years ago i've never used any other service. I used to always transfer by Swift but with Wise's better and quicker transfers its a no brainer imo.

  9. A typical week involves watching live volleyball and basketball for less than $2 at Mall of Asia Arena and Araneta Coliseum, live bar bands, daily outdoor swimming, home cooking, walking to the 3 Makati parks, and meeting unlimited, eager and horny women. Sunflowers grow year round. Seen here in Legazpi park in Makati yesterday.

  12. Ditto. What it costs me to keep it is outweighed by what it would cost me for hotels/eating out/carhire for the couple of months I've been spending each year back home, so cost neutral for now. Not interested in making what profit I could get from renting it for the hassle it brings with it. It's always folk who have never been landlords that say I should rent it out. Those that are or have been landlords mostly say don't do it.

  13. I was lucky as a landlord. Rented my house when I made the move to Thailand. Tenant was the cousin of my ex-wife. After about 12 years of problem free renting to her, sold the house to her. Happy that it worked out for her that she could become a homeowner, and happy to have one less attachment to Amerika.

  14. Ditto - we expect others to live the same way we do and, well - they don't; I also did home telephone service for many years way back in the day and was in and out of some awful places...

  15. Apparently..... The crusaders contributed a great deal to transforming the figure of St. George the martyr into a holy warrior, seeing in the killing of the dragon a symbol for the defeat of Islam; Richard I of England (“the Lionheart”) invoked him as the protector of all soldiers. says Google

  20. Same here. My home on the coast is mine, and no way would I let it whilst I was away. I've got 3 rentals at the moment, and having had 8 years of relatively few problems two sets of tenants have moved out. The first needed some building work done, not really the tenants fault but I wish they had reported it when it arose, and then redecorating, and the second is just plain filthy. Fortunately I've been able to do much of the decorating/maintenance stuff myself, otherwise all those savings made during the good years would soon have disappeared. Much of both sets of deposits have been kept, although one argued the toss about having to pay for cleaners... I'd sell them all, except no-one's buying...

  21. Wise has been solid for me for years. I use it monthly and almost every time the money is sent in seconds. There are times not frequently but there are times that it takes 24 hours and once it took 48 hours but I was told this up front so there were no secrets. I'm happy with them

  23. Used Wise for years now. In a comparison with my OZ bank, Wise has a much higher transfer fee, but the much better exchange rate more than offsets that.

  24. During this morning's walk I was surprised to see the staff shirt the the lady at Nasty Babe Station was wearing. On the front was the bar name. It's one thing to show your FC affiliation, but I would have thought as a business owner it would be better for business if one's political affiliation was best kept somewhat private.

  27. Never quite understood the relevance of St.George in association with England Couldn't they (or Edward 111, 1350 ad) have picked someone English ?😁😁 Maybe we were a bit short of Saints at the time. Not sure about all that Dragon business either 😁 I guess they are all extinct now. Just a legend that never went away

  29. Just received my new driving licence as I will be 70 in July. Think I remember @galenkia mentioning that he had problems trying to get a new licence (I may be mistaken). I went online, filled in everything it asked of me, but when I put my passport number in, it told me that the passport number was invalid and I would have to contact DVLA direct. I ignored that and kept clicking 'Next', it seemed to allow me to proceed. Got to the end and submitted the details, it then advised me that my driving licence would be with me within a week. Today I got the new one. Odd but happy.
