  1. I flew home from BKK to LBA via AMS with KLM on Saturday 30th March 2024. No queue at Bangkok check-in counter, so through in no time at all. Fast track Security was quiet; I joined a queue of three. I normally have issues with camera equipment in carry on luggage; but on this occasion I did not; they now have the new scanners in operation; so there is no need to remove liquids etc. Although it was a Bank Holiday weekend Schiphol was pretty quiet. No queues at Security and staff were directing passengers to vacant scanners. Leeds and Bradford Airport is a small airport. Three flights are due to land around the same time as mine. Although my flight was the third to land, I believe it was the only one to disembark passengers via an air bridge, the other two flights landing at remote locations with passengers being bussed in. I was actually the first to reach Passport Control so no issues there. Luggage took about 15 minutes to arrive on the belt, however on reaching the luggage belt I was reassured that my luggage had reached Leeds by Apple Air Tags. (I am a big fan of Air Tags as I was able to confirm that my luggage had reached the flight in Bangkok, likewise for the flight from Amsterdam to Leeds.)
  2. My next trip to Thailand includes an overnight transfer of 11 hours 10 minutes at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. The timings are such that taking the train into and out of Amsterdam Centre is not viable for me. I wonder if anyone has any experience of any of the hotels inside the airport complex of in close proximity of the airport, which they feel able to recommend. The fare I have booked is from LBA to AMS to CDG to BKK, rather than the normal LBA to AMS to BKK and the reason is that I have paid a little over £2400 for my flight, whereas the LBA AMS BKK flight would be somewhere around the £4000 mark. My return flight is my normal BKK AMS LBA with a total travel time around the 18 hours mark. Thank You.

  5. This was taken from the entrance to Pattaya Beer Garden around 1600 hours. Visibility (which is affected by both particulate pollution and humidity) is as bad as I have seen it for some time.
  6. They teach one to look for things like that in Yorkshire.

  8. @Bazle explained to me the significance of the green and red sides of the beer mats; it shows what a sheltered life I live.
  9. 93. Reading was fluctuating between 92 and 95. Obviously all parts of each digit to not all appear at the same time.
  10. Called in at Pattaya Beer Garden with the new toy.
  11. Done a better job than the original who had tried to clone out the rear registration plate.🍭
