  1. How the average family punter can afford a new electric car is beyond me. Or new tires every 6 months.
  2. That is a poncy all too complicated way of going protein heavy. Just cut out all carbs from ones diet and what is left to eat is basically all protein and you are guaranteed to lose a ton of excess weight. My cardiologist (🤣) told me on Monday that it is carbs that are the real killers. wtf are "chia" seeds?
  3. Your comments are supported by every one of these expats posting their videos on UTube. The one common theme is a singular lack of customers with maybe the exception of LK Metro although even there it may be misleading. You don't see inside the GoGo's. One thing that became all too obvious in the two years or so PRIOR to covid was the fact that the traditional high season was becoming less and less apparent. How many venues then had been desperately waiting for the Xmas/ New Year high season boom period which sadly ended after a couple of weeks Tree Town and its like seem doomed to me as are many of the beer bars that have opened up all over town. There was too few potential "western" customers to sustain all those in existence prior to covid and the profusion of new entertainment venues which continue to open up are only making things worse. I wouldn't mind betting two out of every three owners would sell tomorrow if they could only find a buyer. Which would still leave plenty to go round. ps. Does anyone really want to spend a night in a hot, open air beer bar in Tree Town? Give me air conditioned club hopping in Soi Boomerang any day. 🤣
  4. Just to continue the subject of bollocks. When I was 36 I had a vasectomy at a clinic in the West End of London. I remember I was one of three guys in a sort of conveyor belt and we were all as nervous as hell but trying to put on a brave face. When it was over and my dick had decided not to completely disappear I was full of relief and nervous energy. Absolutely no pain ( still full of local anesthetic I suppose) and being a beautiful summers day I decided to walk through the West End and pick up my direct tube line at Leicester Square. Walked another 10 minutes at the other end still feeling no pain. Decided to change from my suit into something more comfortable only to find to my horror that my boxers were full of blood me having pulled the stitches. I had been told not to drive to and from the clinic (nowhere to park anyway) but I ended up driving to Barnet General for the amusement of everyone I told of my predicament. Basically they all thought I was behaving like a big girls blouse.
  5. Yes, I remember now. My memory is getting really shite. I need a map to find my way home from the pub.
  6. Some of those photos were in The Pacific Breeze. I recognize the bar leading to the pool. Were you with us when John (aka Sweatie) passed out in their Reception. He apparently came back to the Hotel absolutely rat-assed and passed out. I was already in bed with the nights "Plat de jour" and they got Terry up to help the night porter carry "Sweaty" to his room. The first I found out about it was when Terry phoned the next morning and told me I had been elected to go to Sweaty's room and see if he was brown bread. It took me ages to get him to open up and he promptly puked down his T-shirt. I told him the bottles in the middle of the tables in the GoGo were simply for show. You nominally paid for them but they were in lieu of a b/fine. You were not supposed to drink whatever was inside the bottles but Sweatie being Sweatie drunk 3 or 4 of them. Lovely guy but hollow legs. The next day he nearly got mugged in the middle of Fields Avenue by the two ugliest lady boys in the Philippines. Happy days.
  7. f**k doing "Sloppy Seconds" after you! 🤣 I recall going into one of your "Perimeter" bars and thought I was being clever to phone you back in Pattaya whilst I was enjoying myself in AC. You got me to say "Hi" to them all from you and not only did they remembered you I then had to buy them all a drink ................"from you". I didn't mind as it was a fun place.
  8. I have watched several UTube videos recently on Angeles City trying to recognize the AC I knew in its pre-covid days. To start with the built up section is now known as "Walking Street". It is a mass of new bars and GoGo type venues all bright neon but still managing to look down market. It might have helped if they had spent some money tarting up the actual street itself. It just looks so shabby. The most recent video I watched started in Fields Avenue heading towards the entrance to Walking Street. I didn't recognize a single venue until suddenly there was "Brown Sugar" the outside of which looked exactly the same as it did the last time I visited. Brown Sugar was a very traditional GoGo which I always visited making a point of always buying the Mamasan a drink or two as a prelude to her marking my horizontal dance card. It would not surprise me if she was still keeping the girls in order. That was the only venue I recognized in Fields Avenue. Entering "Walking Street " itself once again Covid had no doubt been the death of the venues I knew. No familiar names until suddenly there was ""Gecko" which had been very busy in the old days opening up around 12 noon. Gecko had been the home of the "Cherry" girls. Never waste your time buying a girl in Gecko a lady drink until you had clarified if she was in fact a cherry girl or not. It got more complicated due to there being more than one definition of the term "Cherry." i.e which parts were off limits. 🤣 Further down Walking Street I found that The Amsterdam Hotel was still trading. That was the very first Hotel I stayed in AC before we all seemed to move to The Pacific Breeze which appears also to be still going strong. The only other name I still recognized from the old days was Baccara. I always had a kind of Love/hate relationship with AC. Every time I went I vowed I would never return mostly because there is absolutely nothing to do during the day time. So I spent most days round the pool at The Pacific Breeze. On the other hand the bars and GoGo's were absolutely rammed with pussy at night which sort of evened out the Love/hate aspect. The nights were also spent touring round with the usual suspects and we did have a laugh. Not sure I will ever return. But I have said that before!
  9. Once you start using an air fryer you wonder how you ever managed without one. They look great but you do not need anything more than the lightest spray of oil. I get perfect medium rare rib eye steaks just seasoned.
  10. No, only 4 hours. However I did fast for more than 12 hours before my hip operation and they took my bloods then and again prior to being released from the hospital and nobody referred to cholesterol then? I always intended to return to a more balanced diet after I had achieved my target weight. It looks like that is going to be required after I get the "good news" from my GP on the 14th December. Back to semi skimmed milk in my coffee! No rib eye's twice a week! 🤣
  11. I had my annual blood pressure check up with the Practice Nurse a couple of days ago which includes having my bloods taken. Blood pressure was fine but yesterday I received a phone call from the Practice to advise me that my GP will be phoning me at 6pm on the 14th December to discuss my Cholesterol. I presume not to congratulate me on it being within acceptable levels. You cannot win. I looked it up through Google and find top of the list of things that cause high cholesterol is red meats of all types followed by dairy products such as butter and cream. Prior to my hip replacement operation 11 weeks ago I lost 26 kilos in weight based upon a carnivore fasting diet built around eating mostly fresh unprocessed meat of all types, fish and virtually zero carbs. If I wasn't using my airfryer I was cooking with butter. I nearly forgot my two cups of coffee a day with full fat cream ...........but no sugar. 😉 I had my bloods taken a week before my hip operation and again when I was admitted. Nobody mentioned high cholesterol then?
  12. It doesn't end with an over abundance of just restaurants. That is almost a drop in the ocean when one compares that with the number of new bars and beer bar complexes which have grown up all over town. An obvious example is Tree Town and the relatively new one in Second Road with the strange name that escapes me for the moment. A new walk around video pops up every other day on UTube and the only obvious common denominator is the lack of customers. Apart from the large complexes of basically open air beer bars (which I hate) there are new beer bars everywhere. I hardly recognize Soi Buakhao any more for the new bars that have grown up along the whole length of it now. How do the bars in Soi 6 survive? I am yet to view a single video that shows more than the occasional actual customer. There was insufficient customers to support all the "Western orientated" entertainment venues pre-covid so how all these new and not so new venues going to survive is beyond me.
  13. My first three Company cars were consecutive Morris Marina's followed by a Morris Ital which was basically another Marina. They were without doubt a leading candidate for the worst British motor cars of all time. They had no power at all and no brakes to speak of! I had to drive them during the week but kept my sanity at the weekends getting through a series of used A H Sprite/M G Midget and a Triumph Spitfire. I bought my Daughters the cheapest new Citroen saloon which served them well for a couple of years so one thumbs up for a Frog mobile.
  14. Looking out of my living room window at yet another pathetic day of almost non-stop drizzle and unbroken really low down cloud scudding from right to left. And its cold. And miserable. And its 3:10pm and very soon it will be dark enough to justify turning on the light. And the nights will keep getting longer until the back end of December after which we will be snowed in until March by which time I will have returned and promise not to start moaning about the heat and humidity. And its 3:15pm now and definitely getting dark! And I just turned on the lights because I cannot see the keyboard.
  15. I just have just two nights in Bangkok right at the start of my month trip in March. That hasn't stopped me changing my hotel in Bangkok three times in a week. 🤣 I finally settled on Dynasty Inn simply for the location in Soi 4, Nana.
  16. I am not sure I quite understand. When one does the cloning the new phone will not have a sim card and therefore does not have a phone number. It is not until the cloning is finished, hopefully successfully, that one puts the existing sim card into the new phone and thus the new phone inherits the existing phone number. Or am I wrong? I have always allowed the shop I purchased a phone to transfer everything but the last time they f***d it up. This time I will be buying the phone from Amazon and attempting everything myself.
  17. All I am really worried about is transferring my WhatsApp and Line Apps and all the associated data from my existing android phone to a new one. As I am very comfortable with my current OPPO phone to me it makes sense to stay with OPPO. If I am cloning one phone to another am I right in believing that having carried out that exercise both phones should then look and look and act identical to one another. By that I mean as far as Apps and associated data is concerned not any additional bells and whistles there may be on the new phone.
  18. What I am doing is trying to make up my mind as to whether I should buy a new smart phone or not. Or more particularly, when and where to buy a new phone. I used to always buy Samsung simply because I got used to them. Not that I had many as change occurred when they stopped working for good or I had damaged them beyond reasonable repair. People who queue up outside phone shops every time a new model is launched IMHO are certifiable. Then I bought an OPPO phone well over three years ago because they brought out a model which got a great review of the camera and was less than half the price than replacing my aging Samsung. I have been extremely happy with the OPPO phone but now that is starting to look its age and I am scared if it just stopped working I would be in the shite. So do I buy one now or wait until I return for my month of March in Thailand and buy OPPO then? I class phones as "capital expenditure" and I have an inbuilt reticence to spend my capital on anything. The only downside of buying my original OPPO was that the clown in the phone shop (in Thailand) royally f***d up cloning my old Samsung to the new OPPO and I lost data for ever and had to reinstall my most favorite , and most used, Apps including WhatsApp and Line. The same thing happened not so long ago to a good friend in Thailand which explained why we could not phone one another for a month or so. To buy, or not to buy? That is the question.
  19. How right you are and so was I. I can still quote word for word my French teachers final comment on my end of year School Report: "He is lazy, untidy and never works well." Well I did get 11% in the mock O-Level French exam after which they threw me out French. I mean what more do you need to know in Frog other than "Aimee vous les blow jobs?"
  20. Just start with "Mai Pet" when ordering any Thai meal. It will still come at least medium spicy. On my second trip I let a Thai girl take me to the "Ruen Thai??" restaurant in second road and let her order a meal for the two of us. I wanted it to be an authentic Thai meal so I told her to order for me just as if she was ordering for herself. It took my head off and my mouth would not stop burning. I was told to just eat plain rice but that didn't help. I used up copious amounts of water and that did not help either. Half of the Thai staff were around me helping the farang in distress. 🤣 Mai Pet, for ever after!
  21. I wanted it to start from the 1st December because I plan to make a second monthly trip to Thailand for the month of November 2024. I will take the chance on my trip to Tenerife on the 6th December.
  22. I have just completed an annual travel Insurance policy effective from the 1st December. From a monetary point of view that is a no-brainer as the cost of a single trip cover for a monthly visit to Thailand is only 30 pounds less than the annual policy. With such a monthly trip booked for March and a week in Tenerife early next month my anticipated further travel next year will effectively cost me nothing as far as insurance is concerned. I really didn't consider this but reading the small print I find that should any new medical condition, treatment, investigation or prescribed medication arise during the year I have to immediately advise that to the Insurers.

    ALEXA

Our Ford car could not understand Sai's Thai accent and she used to get really annoyed when she couldn't use the phone voice control. It didn't work either for the Thai salesman at Ford's in Pattaya and I had to use it for him after he told me what to do. I use Alexa for music but not much else. The sound bar I linked to my smart TV is brilliant.
  24. She is hedging her bets! Yesterday I noticed her U-Tube video was on the subject of the respective merits and which was best out of Viagra and Cialis. Basically, her conclusion was that it was a draw but as Cialis effects apparently last for 36 hours they are much better value for money if one can still shag more than once in 24 hours particularly if used in the generic version such as Apcalis. She didn't actually mention "Apcalis" by name but that is what they sell in the Pharmacist in Second Road just past The Robin Hood. So they tell me. 🤣
