  1. I guess you mean 150,000 ? Well, grab your basic math schoolbook and redo the calculation ........ 150,000 x 0.02% = 30 ! So, indeed very minimal. Now now grab your schoolbook again, and calculate the probability in %
  2. They did a test in a school here in Bali early this month. Look at the results, 77% positive.....needless to say, they didn't tried again in another school. https://coconuts.co/bali/news/more-than-200-students-in-bali-polytechnic-school-test-positive-for-coronavirus/ Another example ? Bali governor wanted to show the example and had everybody tested at the governors residence.... 20 persons positive. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thejakartapost.com/amp/news/2020/09/26/over-20-people-test-positive-for-covid-19-at-bali-governors-residence.html So yes, if you dont test you dont have cases. And thats why countries like Thailand, Indo, VN, etc dont test ..... So the number look good. Miraculous even ! Now again, testing positive doesn't mean anything. The death rate amongst positives is something like 0,02 or 0,03 %
  3. Ok, how many Thais are tested daily, nationwide ? Compare that number now with say UK, France or Germany ?
  4. At least they're leading by example πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Well done. Our President pushed it a bit, he caught the bloody thing 😱😱😱
  5. What is going on is that they only test international arrivals, or clandestines having crossed the border, so of course the majority of the "catch" are non-thai. Let them test a few UNI classes, the cops, or a few regiments in the army....you'll see the results !
  6. Spot on. This is exactly the risk I mentionned to a mod many months ago. Let more than 4 Americans on a forum and they will turn it into a nonsense political shitfest. They just can't help it, it's in their DNA. One the very few exceptions being @code_slayer_bkk. Going through the hassle of finding a personnal adress....some sick fucks around these Thailand forums !
  7. Interesting article about the PCR test accuracy. https://focustaiwan.tw/society/202012160027 2 possibilities come to mind : - Different settings on the PCR test, different labs, countries - And of course the "bought" ones But this article mentions many things can affect the result... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thejakartapost.com/amp/news/2020/10/04/pcr-tests-remain-gold-standard-but-many-factors-affect-results.html
  8. Well noted Lazarus. My kids did their first years in France, till respectively 13, 9, 8 y old . This gave them some good bases in European culture and allowed to be fluent in French. After we moved to Thailand (2008) they all 3 attended Assumption college in BKK, a catholic school of a proper level. They are now 25, 21, 20 and all 3 fluent in French, English, Thai spoken and written. One is now in UNI, 2 other have started their independent life. One in France (Army), the one in UNI plans to go overseas at the end of his studies, the youngest one is looking for an international career as well. Probably got the travel bug from me. None of them 3 attaches much importance to their grandparents in LOS, let alone the extended family..... Same as they don't attach a big importance concerning where I live / retire. Which is the way it should be IMO. When I left home at 18, family was not my first concern. I had decided to go my way, and that's what I did. Anyway, all the best. And concerning home schooling, I don't think I would have "survived" it schooling 3 at home !
  9. Once again you are completely wrong, and have no clue about me.
  10. Why would you wanna send her to a useless village school where she will be brainwashed, when you can give a decent education in the US ? Sorry, not attacking, but I am surprised anybody would even THINK about that ?
  11. Like I give a shit.... Wave your stick if it makes you feel better at your age !
  12. But I would run, run, away .......
  13. Hahahaha, that would see a lot of people banned.....
  14. So, tell me, after that old grandmother received the first jab some time ago, with a lot of P.R. and fanfare, how many 100.000's of Brits have been vaccinated ? Because we are flooded with daily counts of infected and deaths, but nowhere can I see a tally of the number of people vaccinated since the start of that glorious "massive" jab campaign ?
  15. Same here in the villages. Even in South Bali, the most populated area I never heard about a dramatic increase in deaths. Was at the French cantine yesterday, as usual shake hands, sit together, etc... None of us knows about anybody that died of Covid. Of course, there must be some, but in small communities like here the chances are very slim. Concerning the mask thing, the way governments enforce it is a joke. So you're driving a motorcycle, need a mask. FFS, what are the chances a virus flows in your mouth or nose when driving on the road ? Driving your car, mask mandatory....even if you're alone .πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” You walk on the street, or along the beach (with a breeze) mask mandatory...Maybe those nasty viruses are carried by the seabreeze ? But the best is that then you arrive at the restaurant, pub or at home, where you will be sitting and chatting with other people (no importance if its 2 or 3 or 4 at a table) and then your mask off and start having long chats each barely 1 m from one another ...😁😁😁😁😁😁 In my resort there is now a group off maybe 20 people on holiday. Always masks on when outside the resort, then come back, sit all together, eat chat and sing.... A fucking joke it is ! Now, masks in public transportation, crowded places, hospitals and so, yes that make sense. But on the street, driving on the road, walking along the beach ? ....Give me a break!
  16. More dramatization.... We had the same some time ago with ambulances in Moscow....
  17. All my friends are like me, they belong in the Devil's group....
  18. Ever heard of devil's advocate ? When everybody is dreaming and drinking the coolaid, you need one ....
  19. So much for the vaccine dreamers ..... Look at the new date ! Sanofi, GSK delay COVID-19 vaccine program [11/12/2020] 14:16:00 Sanofi S.A. and GlaxoSmithKline plc announced on Friday that their COVID-19 vaccine program has been delayed due to insufficient immune response in the elderly population, so the jab is expected to be available by the last quarter of the next year. "The results of the study are not as we hoped... Our aim now is to work closely with our partner Sanofi to develop this vaccine, with an improved antigen formulation, for it to make a meaningful contribution to preventing COVID-19," said President of GSK Vaccines, Roger Connor.
  20. If I remember well, in France (and I guess all Europe is same) windshield can not be tinted. Only side windows.
  21. A very well articulated load of bollocks. @Nightcrawler must be bored to death to have time for this stuff...
  22. Giving the first vaccine to a 90 y old person is 100% pure political P.R. Strategically it doesn't make sense. This shot would have been of more use for a first line nurse. It's called "triage" and it is the normal practice in every war or disaster management. Light wounded : on the side, they can wait Deadly wounded : considering their low survival chance, no point to waste resources on that group, a morphine shot to lessen their suffering. Concentrate the resources on those who really have a chance to be saved. Between a 90y and a 45y old, if you have the resources to save only 1, the choice is easy. You save the 45 y old.
  23. You should read again ..... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/dec/08/oxford-astrazeneca-covid-vaccine-has-70-efficacy-full-trial-data-shows So from 95% we are now down to 60 / 70. Considering about 30 % people dont want to be vaccinated : 100 people x o,7 = 70. Of those 70 only 70% will be protected = 49 Time to stop drinking the coolaid and be realistic.
  24. Shaking my head reading this ..... https://www.stickboybkk.com/news/govt-approves-120kph-speed-limit-to-improve-traffic-flow/ NEWS Govt Approves 120kph Speed Limit To β€˜Improve Traffic Flow’ Published 1 day ago on December 7, 2020 By Stickboy BKK SHARE TWEET The government has approved a higher speed limit of up to 120 kilometres per hour on national and rural highways to improve traffic flow despite having some of the deadliest roads in the world.
  25. Well, I like that answer. So, if you wear YOUR mask the fact that I dont want wear one is irrelevant, because you're safe already ! Exactly my point since months.
