  1. I bought 24 bottles,18 red 6 white from Sainsburys in the last 2 days....25% off ain't to be ignored!
  2. OK I'm home alone & still jet lagged but I can still cook, even after four pints of real ale....
  3. The first thing I did last night when I got home after 6 weeks away was make a list of what I have to do. Up at 0630 today-must be jet lagged-in Sainsburys at 7,groceries & 12 bottles of red,did a shedload of washing(or the machine did),sorted out a shedload of mail, ordered another 12 bottles of wine from Sainsburys online, went to see my mum in the care home just up the road & I'm just about to meet a mate in my local for my first real ale since leaving. I also ran both our cars & checked the tyres on them & drove over to mum's house to check it out. I need another fucking holiday!
  4. @Derek Dangleberries I think you'll empathise with this😂....
  5. Went to see my mum this afternoon, there's no way she can go home so now I have the task of raising the dosh for her £1500pw care home. Sell her house & cash in her premium bonds & her investments....I'm gonna be busy.
  6. Tried to pay my mum's care home bill online but the bank sent me one time passcodes which I'm not receiving. Then something twigged - went into my iphone & sure enough the missus put her UK sim card into my phone....I knew I should've done it. Getting a replacement but it means she won't be able to ring me once she's at LHR.I'm sure she'll be able to cadge a phone call from somebody.
  7. I landed at T4,but if you Google it for your terminal you should be OK. It's £7.50 fro 0-30mins in the short term car parks. So long as you've got a credit card then can pay at the machine when exiting.
  8. I rented a car in Zurich when my missus came out to visit, chose a manual Nissan Micra because that's what she had in the UK. Of course it was LHD & she couldn't change gear....I'd had a few pints so we ended up with her operating the clutch & me the shifter....great fun,in retrospect.
  9. Just got home from Bangkok via Doha & Qatar Airways. It's 9.25pm here & I got up at 3am UK time yesterday & have had about 90mins sleep since. BKK-DOH was a Boeing 787 & DOH-LHR was an Airbus A350.I think the Airbus just shaded it,but maybe it was because there were a lot less people on the Bus,although I did get a numb arse on the Boeing.Food & service were good on both legs. Sailed through immigration at LHR & then after less than 5mins in the baggage hall my suitcase came out. Then a 30min wait for my mate to pick me up & straight into a snarl up on the M25....& it was pissing down....some things never change.
  10. Any nationality from any religion who comes to the UK or Thailand & doesn't abide by the laws of the land and makes a c**t of themselves. From my experiences Saudi Arabians are cunts not only in their own country but in Thailand as well.
  11. I was trying to do an online check in for my flight tomorrow & I couldn't get past country of residence & nationality, the usual drop down lists didn't appear. Just about to give up when I thought try again with my VPN switched off. All checked in now.
  12. I had the BBQ pork ribs in Monsoon this evening, absolutely delicious & the carafe of house red was not bad. Picture I took turned out awful so you're stuck with my description.
  13. In Bangkok on the way home,I met up with an old mate in Chequers on Soi Nana. The guy on the right used to run Bobby's Arms which was in a car park in Patpong & later the Queen Vic on Soi 23 just outside of Cowboy. The guy with the beard is a friend of a friend.A great night of nostalgia wallowing.
  14. You've never experienced proper post Pattaya blues unless you've just gone back to Saudi for another 15 week stint.
  15. It was a pleasure to meet you & Brian mate. Just checked into the Ibis Styles on Soi Nana in Bangkok, after our palatial condo in Grand Avenue it seems very small but only for 3 nights so no probs.Quite a good drive from Pattaya it took around 2 hours.
  16. Pork loin & pepper sauce in the Hideaway,a fantastic meal but not the best house red I've had in Thailand. Now I'm supposed to be meeting Brian for some beer,I feel stuffed.... Going home on Tuesday & one thing that's good about the UK is decent inexpensive wine,in fact it's Easter soon & all the supermarkets have 25% off of 6 bottles or more when it's a holiday. So I'll be doing some shopping.
