  1. After many complaints about animals being able to multitask, the above picture has been altered to show a male at both ends. 😉
  2. Bulletproof Car. 😵‍💫 https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/s/ilnFGQ8eVP
  3. Welcome @Jasonph666 Are you planning on retiring to Thailand or just spending the cooler months here? Either way, good to hear of your plans for your future. 👍
  4. I can see my house from here. 🤪
  5. Another great piece by the same composer. You’ll probably recognise the piece and the film it features in. 👍
  6. Tommy Joke. I cleaned out the attic with the wife yesterday. Dirty, smelly, covered in cobwebs, but she’s good to the kids. 🤣
  7. April 1st 2025 it’ll be £10 for the VED in year one, year 2 it’ll be £180 for cars under £40k Cars over £40k will be liable to the Expensive Car Supplement, for which various VED rates apply. Of course the government isn’t going to lose out from the taxes they’ve gotten used to from ICE cars, they’d be stupid to give EV vehicles a free pass. I can drive into Central London and not pay ULEZ charges or Congestion charges, but after April 2025 I’ll have to pay. https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/electric-cars/running/electric-car-road-tax-guide-do-i-need-to-pay/
  8. Sorry mate, I’d assumed wrongly as it turns out, that you were in UK and under the NHS. 😟 Apologies for that. 🤪
  9. I found that telling the surgery that I was going away for 3 months holidays, always ensured I get 3 months prescriptions for my controlled drugs.
  10. As @Zeb said, the acceleration gets you hooked from the off. 🤗 As an elderly dyed in the wool petrol head, I felt the same until I tried one, now, 2.10 years and 54K miles later, I’m hooked. So hooked in fact that we’ve just ordered our second one for delivery in late April. This one was the first, a Kia Soul FE which does almost 300 miles on a charge and the wife loves it. The second one is the new Kia Nero 4 EV which uses the same battery, so around the same miles on a charge, as we get around 4.8-5.2 miles per kWh. It has everything possible in the way of safety features built in, including a heat pump and heated and cooled seats and steering wheel, which the wife loves. We only charge up at home and on cheap Octopus Energy at night, so extremely cheap at 5p per KWh. So easy to charge, just plug it in and go to bed. We still have a diesel car, but never use it, although we keep it taxed, insured, MOT’d and serviced etc To be honest, I’d never go back to an ICE car as the main car now, if only for the money saved in fuel, as it works out at just over 1 pp mile in electric costs. Of course EV’s aren’t for everyone and that’s to be expected.
  11. We had several coconut trees in the garden that we had to clear of coconuts every so often, in case they fell on a customer and killed them before they paid their bill. 😉 Paid a guy to climb them early morning before we opened, but can’t remember just how much, but wasn’t more than 500 Baht for the lot IIRC.
  12. It never ceases to amaze me just how many ways Thais can f**k up a simple beachfront promenade walkway. 🤡
  13. Shit, I lost 3 times. 😟
  14. Had one of these Tefal Air fryers with the turning paddle in it, but my god it was noisy, so got me a Ninja Airfryer and giving it a go tonight. Saves turning on the electric oven and 1/3 the time to cook. Onnthe menus tonight is Roasted Pork Belly, roasted tatties, steamed carrots and cabbage and the gravy is in the kettle. 🤣 Have to say I’m impressed with the roasting feature and it’s quiet when on.
  15. If they attacked any of his officers, my FIL would have had no problem in divesting their parents of any inheritance they had planned to pass onto their sons and laughed all the way to the bank. 😉 Maybe there’s more to the story that is yet to come out, but the whole incident seems strange to me. It’s not as though it’s the end of the month and the cop had bills to pay. 😉 Maybe a voluntary contribution of a few million to the cop in question and they’ll get to go home without jail time. There is after all, the loss of face the cop has to endure with his family and fellow officers, that’s gotta be worth a new pickup surely. 🤣
  16. Thanks @ChiFlyer I suspected as much but wasn’t 100% sure. I don’t have same problems, as everything for now is in In-laws names, so they pay any bills. 🤗
