Any of you guys that have visited PP , what bars , restaurants and streets would you recommend, obviously I am aware of the new Secrets in 136 St , but would appreciateĀ some other tips for places to eat ,Ā Ā drink andĀ meet the "locals" šŸ˜‰Ā

Get up to 104, much better than 136 start off in Honey Bar and just explore. If you get a bad vibe off any bar or feel too pressured for drinks, just walk out and head into the nex bar.

Decent ales, Botanico on 29th, food there is great- more of regular bar, maybe too High So but I really enjoyed it and a short ride to Naga World- i'm no casino fan but it was worth a gander.

Didn't eat that much in PP!!!. Coffee in the Feel Good Cafe on 136 is fantastic though, had breakfast in there, remember the food being OK, the coffee is the real star though.

The only thing I felt PP was missing on the bar front was a decent sports bar. Bit of a left of field recommendation but watched the England v Croatia Nations cup game in here.

It is a backpacker bar, but English owned and big screens showing the game with the volume on. A few of the more mature punters grabbed a table out by the street. Pretty much a brand new bar, well fitted out inside, usual cheap drinks. Menu seemed to have all the classics but did not get the time to try. Will give it a go again to watch a game

Was just watching a new Steven Segal movie and the opening scene was supposedly in a street with bars in Phnom Penh, got me interested. The inside scenes were supposedly in a bar called HelloĀ Fox but I also noted some seats with the inscription Insomnia.

I did a check on the location though and couldn't come up with any of the bars although they looked familiar.Ā  I then checked the film location and the movie was actually shot in Manila and surrounds, the bars were ones that I knew in Malate, Manila.

Philippines seems to get used for loads of movies.

Yes, I have seen Philippines used for a number of movies set in S.E Asian countries.Ā

Interestingly I met a young guy in the bar a few months ago who was staring in a Banged Up Abroad TV doc that was supposedly set in Thailand, He said Thailand would not let them film it there so they came to Cambodia. He told me they made a mock up of a cell in an upstairs room in one of the shop/houses here.

He was an ex Scots Guard about 38 so if anyone sees the Docu, let me know

Only seeing this now.

I enjoyed the food at Viva Mexico down by the riverfront near the night market. I also had a nice sunday roast at Shenanigans Irish Pub.

Same owners I am told. Very nice food, nice setting in PP as well. I remember craving a burger and going to the burger king a few doors up, I think it was almost 10 dollars for a burger on its own, not a sinner in the place.Ā
