I was surprised to see this place open tonight, thought they were a thing of the past now..

On Soi Buakhao nearly opposite the Piss Stop.....well attended at 20.30...

Doesn’t surprise me.

My kid is a gamer and the price of a high speed gaming computer is fucking expensive.

the Thai kids could rent ok,but not buy.

BTW,this gaming thing is out of control. It’s the real pandemic.

Please excuse my ignorance but In what way?

Does it cost the kids money or is "gaming" another word for gambling.

I have never played games on a computer/phone etc.

Then you have no clue.

I used to play Doom 20 y ago

Now gaming is at a completely different level, and the kids who play at a certain level are bloody good at it.

And usually good at math as well !

The couple gaming shops in the next village over in the deep South are always standing room only .. even here in BKK there are a couple really big gaming shops up around the corner from my house that are also always standing room only .... day and night

Personally, I have never been into playing games on a computer ...

I am of the thought that if it keeps the young guys off the streets, out of trouble, not getting drunk and no drugs  ... then I am all for it .... once the "streets" get their "hooks" into you it becomes a little hard to escape .... and nothing but trouble

It provides an innocent outlet for them .... gives them a chance to escape the daily trials and tribulations .... which can be overbearing on the young ...

The games now are just so damn good, they take forever to master,if at all.

They are addictive and stop the kids from going outside.

We do a pretty good job at keeping game time to a minimum, but they can play online with all of their buddies, and not go outside for 2 days.

Maybe I’m just getting old.🤣🤣

My kid has an Xbox and a Nintendo Switch.

His buddies come over, and play games all day if I don’t boot them outside.

I dunno,I just think they should spend more time outside, but outside is boring comoared to the games.

Every Sunday I have a long video chat with my Daughter in Scotland.

There has never been a single occasion when  Morgan, my Grandson, has not been in the background playing games on his Nintendo ( or whatever) but he does briefly break off if the football team he plays for on a Thursday won their last match and particularly if he scored. The break is very brief but it relieves me to hear at least he is getting some exercise.

He is doing okay at school but I somehow doubt other than school work he ever reads a book.

You hardly ever see a Thai sitting down waiting for whatever reason who is not playing games on their phone.

Mass suicides if the internet f***d up for ever!

Good points Code, but like anything else in moderation.

Many of these kinds are addicted beyond belief.

I suppose though if someone has addictive tendencies they could be attracted to anything. Better a game than a needle I reckon.

Part of the trouble is gaming is very visual. Many grow up and then later become addicted to the gambling games - either on line or in the casinos and truck stops. IMO gambling is the worst form of addiction there is and the most long term. Also has the greatest difficulty to beat, and long run can take everything from an individual, and their communities.

I'll never forget a missing persons case I once worked. The guy was a hardcore gamer. Never saw anything like it before or since then, and this was over 20 years ago.

Went into the guys apartment. There was a small table with a computer on it, and a chair. Absolutely nothing else in the place except empty pizza boxes and empty 2 liter bottles of Pepsi- scattered all over the place. He had been there for weeks. But he was gone.

Few days later they found him in another county. Dead

Yea .. Bro .. everything in moderation .. I have never been like that .. it has always been "balls to the walls and through the wall and onto the next wall with me " ... becoming a software guy has saved my life .... I can go balls to the walls for weeks at a time .. f**k it ....

I just hope some of the gamers find some comfort in their life .. not easy for anyone ...

At least they are not in the streets ... I stand firm on that position ... the streets will eat you up if you can't handle it ... better to be playing games .... it you are not a strong type of guy who is not afraid of anything ( f**k it- bring it on .. is  the way I think ) ... and most if not all of the gamers are not ...

Just hoping they find a good way to live their lives .... some will .. some won't ...

Yea....  a lot better than a needle ... man ... there were so many that died around me growing up in Brooklyn ... it was truly the land of the "zombies" in those days ... f**k me ...
