Just a little heads up for you lads that visit this place.....the 50 Baht all

day bottled beer finishes at 19.00 hrs and goes to 70 Baht   but have a

promotion for bottled beer.....

I like the promo. If I want to save money I can buy 3 for 210, otherwise it's 70/bottle. :default_biggrin:

We had a pre-lube party at Crackers ahead of our hash run on Saturday. They took very good care of our group of about 30. Even put some food on for us as well. Great bar!

Butsaba is well worth a visit. It just needs an infusion of customers.

I agree it looks awful.....

But its the perfect look for Indians who love that bright ,in your face ,gaudy ,cheap ,expensive look.....

The mini vans full of Indians should be inundating the place shortly...

The old hotels that have that gaudy plush wornout expensive cheap look are packed to the gills with Indian tourist...

The Shamrock has been my favorite beer bar in Pattaya since the mid-90's. Always some great characters in there and Terry, the owner, who has been there since about '82, and has forgotten more about Pattaya than most of these current YT'ers know, is just the nicest guy you could hope to meet.

Yep, had a few chats with Terry at the Shamrock over the years.

He was friendly to a fellow Irishman, although I think he may have preferred if I drinking there in the early evening as a preclude to one of the girlie bars, rather than I was waiting for the boy bars to open round the corner in Boyztown, lol

Anyway, was saddened to read on Stickman last Sunday that he had passed away.

RIP Terry.

A little bird told me in the week Zombie and Lupa on Soi 7 weren't parts of the empire any more...

If you look at the bottom right of the video they don't come up...if so I would have thought that

to be news....Tonight on the power walk.

Might be worth visiting if that's the case ... 555 😜

Terry seemed to have had a good life.  Did engineering at Leeds which led to work in Asia, played banjo and occasionally got away for fly fishing in New Zeeland.  I can't remember the year, but first time at the bar was when it was located down the little soi at the corner at  Boyztown.  He then bought the building at the current location and moved the bar.

I was a regular at the bar in the early naughts, but gradually the afternoon clientele developed into a too many aggressive, obnoxious drunks and I rarely went after that especially since I moved away from the beach.

The most gracious barman I've ever known. His passing and the probable end of the Shamrock (though I am holding out hope that it isn't) will leave a huge void for all of those who stopped by for a few cold ones and immersed themselves in the chat with the boys. Especially with the Sunday afternoon sessions, which could be legendary. So many fun afternoons spent there, and prior to Covid, too many fun nights to count over the years.

Terry will be greatly missed by all who knew him and were his loyal customers.

A wonderful guy he was.

The two at the top of the Soi have "No prostitution" signs everywhere which I take as instruction that the girls won't go with customers. If that's the case then what's the point of buying a lady drink, or going in there in the first place?.

And after a buying a girl a few drinks that you're interested in and ask her if she's interested in a short time or a long time all she has to do is point to that sign. Makes it pretty convenient for the business owner
