CampariO Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) I put those 2 places into 1 thread, as they are almost next to eachother. A couple of 100 meters north of the Ambassador one can find a handful of simple beach eateries which usually offer a massage as well. During daytime they are busy with Russians from the Ambassador, in the evenig they are almost deserted, despite being high season. This is actually exactly what I like: sitting next to the sea, listening to the sound of the waves, eating fresh seafood with a cold beer and relax, maybe having a nice massage. We sampled the first restaurant in the group of maybe 7 (coming from the Ambassador, not the one that is almost next to it), but we were a bit disappointed from the food. Another day, and we went to one of the restaurants a bit further north, called Jina restaurant. It is becoming one of our favorit places. The food is usually excellent and the people are lovely. CampariO Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 Everything is simple and informal. With a party of 4 we ordered 2 fried rice with seafood, Tom Yam, gung chae nam pla (raw shrimps) and fish from the barby: Furthermore we enjoyed sweet and sour pork and some squid. 1
CampariO Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) With 2 rice, 4 beer at 50 Bt, 3 mixed fruit shakes at 60 Bt and 4 water at 20 Bt the bill came to 1750 Bt. Strongly recommended, the massage as well. Unfortunately there are some negatives to be considered: in the backup are is some condo contruction ongoing, which might be noisy. As there are few customers this season, not all dishes will be fresh from the market but might be coming out of the deep freezer. Just ask, was food they had bought in the morning or better give them a call in the morning and order what you like to eat for dinner. Shrimps or crabs from the freezer are just not good enough. CampariO Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) Like a cocktail or 2 later in the evening? Nam Mao - drunken water - is almost next to it. A little beach bar we just tried yesterday for the very first time. No ladies or chrome poles here., but maybe you fancy some ping pong or throw some darts? We had 2 Margaritas, which were a bit sweet (150 Bt). The old leaves are gone, the new leaves are blooming. We asked to add some lime to the next glasses and the result was perfect, just as we like them. Cheers! Edited February 11, 2019 by CampariO 1 1 2
Popular Post CampariO Posted January 11, 2021 Author Popular Post Posted January 11, 2021 (edited) Some of the restaurants are now under new ownership, or empty, the former owners packed in. The sun shades are gone, so are the customers. The ambassador had no single light on tonight, looked strange. Sunsets are still nice though. The first restaurant still serves food, nice Tom yum but the fish was not so good. At least you can still enyoy a cold one and massage is availabel as well. Edited January 11, 2021 by CampariO 9 1
CampariO Posted January 16, 2021 Author Posted January 16, 2021 Tonight another massage, another dinner. Then we walked a bit north - past the moo ga ta place which was doing quite well - to a small bar, offering massages, food and some drinks. Soon enough, they ran out of real coke and we had to use coke zero as a mixer which is quite horrible, even when mixing with sang som. Nevertheless, I quite liked it there, as it was offering a bit of an island feeling, .....listening to the waves, Losso or Carabao playing on the stereo, wind in your hair (what was left)..... 3 1

CampariO Posted January 26, 2021 Author Posted January 26, 2021 Tried the Moo gata, 399 THB for a set. Added later a portion of gung for 150 THB. Large Leo 120 THB. Nice, the prawns very fresh, prices above other Moo gata places, but ok for the beach location. Somehow they have to earn the yearly rent of 450k THB. 5
