The above collection go back to mid to late Summer 2018.

A new development with filled blocks now seems to be taking place and these were taken this morning.20190212-20190212-IMG_0401.jpg

Agreed, at the moment it does look good. Let's hope its maintained in such a way.

I'm still confused by what they are creating with those black blocks, which, ironically, are being fitted retrospectively . My initial thought was a "conduit" for the power cables, but that's not happening...

Given the locations at low spots in the footpath I suspect it's their attempt at erosion control. Don't see how that will work, but we shall see with the first big rain.

Possibly, but they seem to be fitting more and more of them along the length of the beach, as opposed to the couple of initial sections.

Are they constructing some type of gutter or drainage track?

As a few have said the beach does not look bad at the moment.

As I have said before, with the sea now never covering a large proportion of the beach, I wonder how that area is going to be kept clean of things like piss.

I can imagine the headlines in a few years' time - "Pattaya beach deemed a health hazard"!

Ok they were building a new large approx 1m circular pipe out to sea when I saw it- Maybe they think can run the rainwater off the beach into sea. I’m only guessing - it’s often hard to tell the intention

Walking from north to south, "building" works taking place this morning...

A year or two ago, they built a concrete jetty next to the sewage outlet at the far south end of the beach. You can see it in Painter's picture. The reason for it was not apparent until now - it forms the end of the "nourished" beach.

The seem to be creating two channels.  My view is that it is a measure aimed at preventing damage to the sand from water running across and from the pavement; that said I am not an engineer.

The Beach this morning

20190215-20190215-IMG_0987.jpg

Wow! Looking good.

How far along are they?

In December they still had a big part of beach road towards PBG to cover.

Edit: nevermind just saw the pics above. Great job.

Beach looks great but now they need to get rid up all them flippin speedboats parked up. I went live on Facebook last year looking down at the beach from the mountain, my brother commented "where are you Dunkirk?"

I must have clicked on this thread 6 times now, expecting to see posts about food and drink on the beach! 😟

Should’nt the title read “Pattaya Beach replenishment”? 🤗
