A little monotonous, for my liking.

I vary between croissants, brioches, pains au chocolat, and tartines.

Good to read you have these possibilities where you stay.

Pretty sure you have even more choice in BKK, but not necessarily near your home.

When I lived in Huay Kwang, sometimes I went to Asoke for croissants and baguette on Sunday mornings as there was a real French bakery there.

Real means with a French baker ! OK, a Belgian one would do also.

We better stop here Thai Spice.

This must annoying the majority here, whom I assume is eating English Breakfast and or beans on toast.

I like an English Breakfast now and then.

Beans on toast is not of my league.

Agreed. I like English breakfast now and then, but too much work to prepare. Even without the bloody beans and the black pudding...

And dont start me on tea with milk....Beurk !

@Lambik,

Just back from the supermarket.

This is the only one in Sanur where the bakery is nice, and offer a decent choice.

None of that shiite like croissant with ham and cheese, warmed in the microwave...

5 min by taxi from my place or 15 min by pushbike (I suppose, never tried..)

Well, after a few beers near the beach in Seminyak I ended up in what is now turning into another "regular"...The little Belgian place. @Lambik , yes I hesitated for the split pea soup as sure it would have brought back some very old memories....Next time !

I couldn't resist going for the escargots as starter, as they were so nice last week. And yep, pure perfection again, even more as I had some wine instead of beer.

As main course, I went for the "Vol au Vent". Very nice as well, although I had to question the owner about the presence of a slice of lemon....His answer was "yep, we'll never do that in Belgium or France, but here there are some people who like a zest of lemon on it..."

Horror and stupor but we both knew the culprits....

Total damage 370 k IDR (830 b / 22 Euro), and of course the drinks representing the best part of it. But sorry, no way I am going to savour this stuff with a fruit juice or a smoothy !

Next weekend, definitively will try the mussels !

I dislike Turkey and sprouts so traditional Christmas Dinner does not do much for me.

On the other hand, I love Christmas Pudding which I am pigging out later on tonight but with cream.

Very reasonably priced in Siambury's which I visted for the first time yesterday. A veritable Aladin's Cave of  goodies.

I commend your choice of reading matter to accompany your meal. 😀

Not the Gooners finest performance against the Huddersfield thugs but a great goal.

Haha, yes it’s the restaurant owners own paper. I’m more. Mail man 👍

Arsenal are being lucky at the moment which is a good sign

If it's not got loads of milk and plenty of sugar it's not a real cup of tea.  If it's got a fruity flavour or a scent about it it's not a real cup of tea.  If it's green it's not a real cup of tea.  All IMO, but I won't call people made up names for liking them.

Beurk isn't a real word you know.

And its not the Brits who invented tea..... But they are about the only ones in the world to put milk in it. !
