I love coleslaw, especially in the summer.

But have been told on the forum i'm gay for doing so.

Just a bit of a running joke.

I like quiche as well :default_biggrin:

The snails are close to perfect, so I cant bring myself to take a different starter....

And so is the Belgian beef stew (Stoof karbonade or Carbonade Flamande) !

What currency are those prices?

Wine Connection, Royal Garden Plaza. This was a bit of a mixed 1 really.

Service and presentation excellent, nice touch they serve sugar syrup on the side of the juice to adjust to taste. I had 2 excellent glasses of perfectly chilled New Zealand white wine.

The mussels were pretty good, but little mean with sauce and chef had shaken pan to death leaving lots of broken shell.

Steak was ok not actually that expensive and it showed as a little tough- not helped by fact I nearly sent it back as was on the medium well side not medium. The wife should of ordered medium rare. Mash was excellent as were fries.

Creme brulee was good- and huge, enough for 2 people easily.

Also had a coffee- note they add +10% service, but i'd of tipped  that as service was good. Total 1700 baht.

I'd definitely go back but probably for a glass of wine and 1 of their cold platters.

I used to go regulary to Wine Connection , Soi 26 in BKK.

Used to be ok, but it had a French manager. They sold nice cheese, ham etc...

A lot was good about it- just a couple of small errors easily fixed.

Yes, but that means somebody in charge to point out those small things. It is a continous repeating..

Had dinner again at my regular french.place here yesterday, and half through the starter the waitress comes up with the main... First time it happens.

I explain her, ok, back to the kitchen. When I mention it to the french boss, he goes "Merde, every, every day I remind them but still now and then for no reason they do it again" ...

I like to relax between courses, nothing worse than being rushed.

If you were in a rush you would of told the waiter. I guess there's a bit of a cultural thing at play too- they don't really get concept of starter then main course.

Even different bits of the main course arriving at different times.

Well, not easy to teach local staff who never have eaten the stuff, or have a clue how it is supposed to be eaten and the "protocol" of a lunch or dinner.

Take here in Indo, they eat with their hands, any time of the day, everybody at different times, sitting where ever they happen to drop, etc....

Had the comment in HKG by a Chinese live in about me being too serious about all this. She lasted 3 months....

My actual Miss has pretty well adapted to it, but I know her family always say about me eating, even if alone, "is complicated".

So be it, I am not gonna change.

Eating is not just about feeding the animal.

I really hate it when that happens , especially in a Western type restaurant, where they have menus with starters and main courses listed and are charging service

Simplicity at its best. Friend slice, beans bacon and a fried egg with a glass of apple juice.

Realistically this probably cost about 30 baht and was spot on.

It is possible to still make money on a 100 baht breakfast- just not a lot.
