Today delights are ribeye steak from the ASDA which is not bad at all for the price.

I always fry onions when having steak and then i cook the steak as hot as possible.

Then the onions, tomatoes and cheese is used to top the steak.

I love fried onions and cheese with steak, I am waiting for a pizza delivery as I just emptied my dish washer and it's travel day tomorrow!

YOU dare to say "overcooked" ? 😁😁😁😁

Personally I like pizza very crispy, even a slighty burned on the outside.

You're curry looks like a game of two halves 😊

Prefer the right half, left hand side looks a fusion cuisine experiment too far. Mind you, Pineapple rings as kid seemed the ultimate in exotic treats.

What's that pine apple slice doing there ?

And the red sauce ?

Shock of cultures ? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

The red sauce is Indian mango chutney.

We used to get pineapple as one of the sides in our mess in Oman so thought I'd try it again, makes a nice contrast.

But it has to be in juice, not syrup.

I remember being in a restaurant and 3 of us ordered Steak Hawaii without the Hawaii.  They knew exactly what we wanted.

Pineapple fritters on the other hand.  Mmmmmm, lovely.

Dinner at the regular French place.

Specials of the day :

IMG-20191015-WA0008-768x1365.jpg

As usual Rillettes as starter for each of us.

20191015_184124-1024x768.jpg

Mahi-Mahi fish in "Papillotte style" for the Miss. She was not really satisfied with it as the fish was not burned, and over fried as they are used to, but gently steamed :

20191015_190112-768x1024.jpg

Soupe de poissons for me, a French classic.

20191015_185957-1024x768.jpg

Dessert chocolate mousse for me

20191015_192408-768x1024.jpg

And crème brulée for the Miss

20191015_192349-768x1024.jpg

With a 250 cc wine and an ice tea all in 450 k IDR (1,000 b)

In fact, its a bit too much food, next time 2 dishes each only. Stomach overloaded now, specially as wine doesn't help for the digestion.

Now that looks good.

May I ask.....(without getting my head bitten off, lol). What is the soup made with ? It looks similar to a creamed pea soup.

Oh I see...  I went back and saw on the menu some kind of fish soup. I'm learning.   5555

Would still like to learn more about it. Sure looks good.

Hi Glasseye,

In France we have the standard "soupe de poissons" which is a rather thick texture soup, but with no real pieces of fish in it. Served with bread, gruyere and "rouille" paste. I'll google it for you later, as I am not sure how to translate this.

We have also "bouillabaisse" which is a speciality of Marseille (big city on the Med), it is much more liquid and has pieces of several types of fish "floating" in it.

You'll sure find recipes for both on Youtube and Google.

Bon appetit !

I'm sure I would enjoy both. As long as it isn't cold....lol.

I would love to do a foodie tour of France some day.

If one day you do, make sure to include the Perigord region. Famous for food, relaxed village life, very appreciated by British retirees.

East of France, Strasbourg region very nice also, but completely different.

Paris is more difficult as it is a bit of a tourist trap, and with your American accent.... 😁😁😁
