Jesus what a day ..... Gary Rhodes chef ...Jonathan Miller polymath and above all Clive James.

Thought of that old bastard Gray Ray decaying down under as Clive James read before he died 100 poems that make men cry.

I'd only cry because you owe me a few pints of cold lager you old f**k ........ loved Clive James. that rare thing an educated Aussie back in the 70s .......

.... Clive James was a genuinely funny man ........... RIP mate. :default_friends:

I wish I could equate my own  with their achievements,,,but I can't in any minute sense at all.Nevertheless I am grateful for my lot

However I feel we are all lifted up because of their accomplishments .

My son also has a theatric bent and ,to his credit raised Johnathon Millers  exceptionalism with me which I was pleased to discuss with him

Its amazing that some people like Miller can overachieve in two seemingly unrelated disciplines..it speaks to an incredible mind .I met a very  few of similar ability in Uni and held them in awe,it all seemed so effortless to them.

Grew up watching Bob as a kid in the 70's and 80's.Was an England legend.

RIP to a cricket great.

Gutted

Amazing cricketer, but what a man.

As a commentator said  everything that Neville and Carragher, had neither the courage nor the integrity to do so.

Hard as the message was to give , never afraid to call out an ex-player.

Bob Willis was part of the England team I remember most.

We loved to hate Boycott, but Bob Willis was always a class act.

Ron Saunders basically built the Aston Villa European Cup winning team but resigned from the Villa when they were at the quarter final stage.
Tony (forger his surname) went on to win the European Cup.
Saunders was a Midland football legend. He managed Villa, Birmingham City and West Brom.
