Would you buy or have you bought a cheap Chinese Smart Phone

I must confess that I have a Chinese Smartphone for use in Thailand.

I have recently purchased a Huawei P30 Lite 128GB for use when I am in Thailand and in terms of actual use, performance etc, it does not appear significant different from my IPhone XR which I use in UK. I realise there may be issues following US restrictions on treading with Chinese companies.

What do members think?

Have a look at the video linked above; it does explain why Chinese phones are cheaper than others.

The P30 you bought John is no cheap Chinese phone Chinese maybe but it's a top-of-the-line spec phone and I don't believe it came cheap did it?

There are several models of the P30.  The P30 Pro is the top of the range and is quite expensive (£889.00 in UK)  The P30 lite is at the bottom end (£279.00 in UK) and I paid 8200 baht for it and received two free blue tooth speakers.

Iphone XR is currently £799 on Amazon in UK with 125 GB storage.

Not so concerned with 128gb of storage but having the Kirin processor and 6 gig of RAM is huge for that money nice Buy

I am a big Samsung phone fan, I currrently have the S3, S5, S7 and a S9. All have been very functional and reliable.

If I wanted a cheap phone I would buy the new Samsung A10. Fairly high spec for a phone that you can pick up for around the £100 to £130 brand new!

I would hardly call £279 a cheap  Chinese phone, I have a Xiaomi A2 Lite bought at £144 in the UK which outperforms my previous 2 Samsungs (S3 and J2).

I got my S3 around 7 years ago and have had a new phone every couple of years on my contract. I usually use my old phones whilst in Thailand or the PI. So my S9 has my UK sim in it. My S7 has my Thai sim in it and my S3 has my PI sim in it. On my next trip to AC I will get a new sim to put into my S5 which will make my S3 redundant.

Yes, I had an Oppo 7 and now have a Xiaomi Redni note 7. It has a 48mp camera and slow motion video capture. One amazing phone.

I wouldn't have a problem. A phone is just a tool.

The only reason I stick to a ( cheap Galaxy  C5Pro)  Samsung is because I am used to the lay out and its working.

I have an Oppo F9 which I much prefer to my previous Samsung phones.

You can actually use it to phone people.

Not many people know that.

I have Bixby on my S9 but I don't use it and it doesn't give me any hassle. How does it cause you problems?
