My next door neighbour has a car bodyshop & has been doing a restoration job on this Camaro.

It has an 8.6L engine and is used in drag racing at Santa Pod but is also road legal.Apart from the normal mounts the engine is also attached by chains.

Just what you need at the lights against a boy racer.

Now this is real car porn- car in the foreground, porn in the background.

Anyone recognise the car? It featured in a famous movie.

I think that is the  car from A Clockwork Orange, called a Probe 16....

Cosworth's were a great investment for the canny minded.
My 3 year old Suzukl RG500 cost me £3500 in 1989,mint ones go for over £20k now. I sold mine for £500 with a blown engine and crash damage 5 years later [emoji1]
I had a RG500 in 89 too, wrote it off and went to Thailand for the first time with the insurance pay off [emoji3]. Just bought a RGV250 to recapture some 2 stroke magic...

Well we got a "Bike Porn" thread which i have to say is brill imo so why not have a car one as well. This British made TVR Tuscan was/is imo an absolute beauty, it was launched in 2000 with a list price of circa 40K GBP and to acquire an excellent condition one today will set you back in excess of 30K GBP. In its day it was a real head turner and the exhaust sound was far better than any stereo sound system you might want to hear, most owners chose the exhaust lol
I don't quite know why i did'nt get one when i retired and had all the time to play around/enjoy one, it was capable of 180mph if ya had the balls to do it. Like all TVR's it had a bad rep for reliability but to the fervent owners that was a price worth paying to own and drive such a beauty at a relatively affordable price. If i was living in the UK now i would get one as a last throw of the dice.

I drove one soon after they were released. Awesome car, very light so was rapid.... No safety aids though....

Right and double right., though it was of course known as the Durango 95 in the film.

This is the actual car used in the film. The colour was changed during its restoration.

I had a Lancia Scorpion. Basically the same frame with a body designed by the Farrari team. Way under powered with all of the US smog equipment installed, so I stripped it all off and had it turbo charged.

A Rocket!!

Yes indeed but that was half the fun, you had to be a "real driver" lol

Woman i used to work with had a Tuscan in that exact colour and a mate rebuilt one a few years ago. There's no way you'd get to 180mph....they just aren't solid and stable enough.....the Speed6 engines didn't make the quoted power either usually. Still great fun though and very cool.

I've also known two men who have died in TVR's. You crash at any decent sort of speed: you will probably die.

My sister had one in Tasmania, 5 months after buying it new, it caught fire and was burnt out completely.
