I'm going to view this over the next few days, taking a "Z " Expert with me. Depending upon the condition (I noticed rust creeping up from the sill) then I might well be the new owner come next week. Also we will have to verify the authenticity along with matching engine numbers etc.

If I am, then it'll be bare shell stripped, dipped, blasted and gone through, but from the pics the bonnet is slightly out of line, along with the gap on the drivers side front wing at the top, and the swage line on one side is out by a few mm, indicating a possible front end shunt (In pic 10, the swage line aling the door dips down very slightly, on the passenger side, in pic 11 it is straight, plus it's got a new front bumper...). we shall see.

The panel gaps on Japanese cars of this era were never perfect, but they were more perfect than UK cars of the same period, however, these were factory built so there shouldn't be too much discrepancy in the gaps.

I stupidly bought a 260Z 2+2 when I was 19 ( 1990) with the intention of restoring it and spent a fortune with a company in Hampshire called Mr Z ( I think too lazy to google)  gave up as the rust was horrendous and I was a shite restorer. Scrapped in the end - lived the cars though do best of luck with it

Samuris (incorrect spelling on part of the tuner due to a trademark issue) were all tuned by "Spike Anderson" to 190 BHP and beyond. They all had triple Carbs and a very well tuned head (matching manifolds whereby the exhaust and inlet ports are honed out and smoothed to exact measurements, along with some very specialised head work).

I have already fully restored an early 70's Skyline Hakosuka which is sat in storage, I got it as an original 1 owner car and have deliberately kept it off the Register because it's not for sale at any price to anyone, regardless. There is someone very eager to buy it and might well make an appearance here.

With regards to this particular 260, there's a very good reason he didn't post any engine pics, given that the one reason anyone wants to buy an SS is due entirely to the engine / suspension mods.

The VIN tags match and it is the original chassis with a respectable amount of corrosion to go with it. Suspension mods remain intact.

However, I walked away from this sale for a very good reason, and it was not because I don't have 30 grand to spend, but it's because I don't have 30 grand to waste.

Police in Canada have charged a man with speeding and dangerous driving after he was found asleep at the wheel of his self-driving car as it travelled at 150km/h down a highway in the province of Alberta.

Announcing the charges on Thursday, the Royal Canadian Mounted police said that on 9 July they received a complaint that a Model S Tesla vehicle was speeding on the highway near the town of Ponoka.

“The car appeared to be self-driving, traveling over 140km/h, with both front seats completely reclined and both occupants appearing to be asleep,” the RCMP said in a statement.
