Aren't they owned by the Welsh gumbyment or something ?

Correct, now manufactured in Wales, Ebbw valley to be precise after many years in Blackpool where they originated from. TVR comes from the founders christian name TREVOR.

My next door neighbour has a car body shop & his sideline is buying up barn finds & restoring them.

This is his Grinnall TR8, a souped up & body modified Triumph TR8.It sounds beautiful & in keeping with the times has no electronic driver aids.

Only trouble is he won't give me the keys.

Now that Coxy is a half decent TR7 in disguise but i have to say the body design is truly appalling imo. I am an avid TR man having owned a TR4 and TR6, net pics but mine were the same coloursTR6.PNGImage result for pics of tr4 in powder blue

Lovely, but too bad they defaced it by adding seat belts and turn signals....

What next - adding Airbags?

Well, I know the guy who originally brought this car north from California in the '70s - not the present owner because he was forced to sell it through divorce, along with other interesting cars he owned - but I figure he probably added these "defacing" safety features so he would feel more comfortable giving his small daughters and her friends rides around town in the car; then again, perhaps the car already had them thanks to a former owner who had similar concerns - do you want a museum piece or do you want a driveable car? I think you are the real "airbag" here.....

That thing has the structural integrity of a wet noodle so any additional safety items would be a welcome relief in an accident.

Awesome car R8 love em but pricey ehh but ya get what ya pay for. I never appreciated how good Audi's were until i got a TT when they first came out, i'd always been a Merc or BMW man. I loved driving the TT 225bhp and the interior was superb imo.

Yeh, you can't be an Audi interior. The TTRS is a bit special.... R8s are great value at the moment but still a lot of money...
