RR007
Friend who has been before but not since 1998 and myself want to go to Angeles next year. We'll do it as side trip from Pattaya Somebody else who frequents Fields ave arena says the Pacific Breeze hotel is decent and good location ?? Is it worth flying into Clark or Manila. Air Asia seems relatively cheap DM to Manila ?? What about currency ?? Take Sterling ?? (perhaps grab a few Peso in advance from somewhere) Anything else to be aware of ?? Yesitisdakid
I've stated Pacific Breeze over 50 times and it used to be my go-to place the last time I stayed there it was terrible internet not working no hot water linen was dirty among various other things. I just coming back from a trip now we stayed at score Birds a group of three of us which is just 50 yards away from Pacific Breeze much nicer in my opinion Edited November 20, 2019 by Yesitisdakid
forcebwithu
You'll have to weigh the travel times and convenience of flying into Clark vs MNL. Traveling through MNL traffic to get from the airport to AC can easily add 1.5+ hours to your travel time. One thing that surprised me was the exchange booth at MNL airport, but outside the terminal offered the best exchange rate for THB to PHP. When I was there last month the booth gave 1.70 where booths in A/C were only giving 1.60.

I changed English pounds at the exchange booth on the left as you exit Manilla terminal and as said above, the rate was as good as anywhere on the street in AC. Subic the rate was even less. Stillearly
Availability of ATMs in AC , Subic etc ?
boydeste
Wild Orchid hotel has an ATM just inside the entrance. There are a few more dotted around as you walk from Fields to Perimeter RD. Can't say that I took any notice in Subic. The exchange rate is poor there and some only change Dollars to Pesos, so I make sure I have enough to cover my stay there before I go.
RR007
Am currently on this side trip to Angeles first ever visit. Will do a trip report when back in Thailand. Its been an eye opener. The poverty is extreme to say the least. Only thing that is expensive LDs from Go Gos with an equivalent price of 215 Baht (350 Peso) a pop. It adds up for sure I'm taking top end Go Go girls and maximum all in price has been 2150 Baht equivalent (3500 Peso) and stand on me they are in no hurry to leave lol. Its a full one day if thats what you want Will report it next week Edited February 16, 2020 by RR007 2

RR007
The one thing really noticeable is the amount of shady geezers on corners clearly offering drugs plus all the usual viagra cialis etc etc Walking around normally in Pattaya I simply never feel the need to look over my shoulder but here I'm very aware of my surroundings. You're fine inside the Go Gos etc (two crackers last night) but outside of their "Walking st" area you gotta be careful. I'd go as far as to say I wouldnt come alone albeit thats only my opinion. Am sure many do A Wingman is a good addition I would suggest. Last night tonight....
