coxyhog Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Solid start from England in the first test vs the Kiwis.241-4 after day one. 2
Lemondropkid Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) Yep very solid, seemed to really dig in and graft in the first 2 sessions. Just watched the highlights, slightly worrying that the Kiwi's seemed to figure out Sibley about an hour into his innings. Switched their attack to outside the off-stump, until he knicked it. Don't think he will see much at aimed at his stumps/pads for the rest of the short series Edited November 21, 2019 by Lemondropkid
fygjam Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Pakistan all out 240. Australia yet to bat. Stumps. PS. Did anyone mention that Australia holds the Ashes?
misteregg Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Fell asleep watching it. (Started at 5:00am)
galenkia Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Good knocks from all except Root so that's good to see. Hopefully not the usual collapse on day 2
fygjam Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Now Warner decides to make 100 (151 not out).

Chang_Paarp Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 The Aussies are 5 for 532, a lead of 292 at tea. The Pakistan team need a break.

coxyhog Posted November 23, 2019 Author Posted November 23, 2019 Watched the England game up until lunch, sloppy fielding & missed catches along with some strange decisions from Root so not surprised to see the Kiwis in the lead.

Our problem is we play too much white ball cricket during the best 3 months of the year, where pitches favour the batters and Red ball cricket at the months it favours the bowlers so batsmen don't get enough time at the crease. And the national side is paying the price. Edited November 24, 2019 by galenkia 2

galenkia Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Rubbish. Root has been shite since becoming captain, average has plummeted. Same old England, tale of two innings.
coxyhog Posted November 25, 2019 Author Posted November 25, 2019 From Wisden: The last time England scored 400 in their first innings of a Test? December 16th, 2017. They still lost that Test by an innings and 41 runs.
galenkia Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Next years fixtures and as you can see white ball cricket dominates the summer
andycoll Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 For those who believe Cheats should never prosper, you are going to be disappointed. Unfortunately David Warner has just scored 335 not out. Admittedly it was against a very pedestrian Pakistan attack, but, nevertheless, there it is
