Road trip to Loei

After our trip to Ubon Ratchathani we fancied the "mountains". So we drove up north to Loei which is not that far from our "family headquater" in Chaiyaphum.

On the way we made a short stop at Mor Hin Khao, also called the Stonehenge of Thailand. It is located about 50 km north of Chaiyaphum.

The next day we had a glance at the rafts on the Huai Krathing reservoir.

Those seemd to be for VIPs: got even carpets. 😁

The rafts will be attached to a longtail boat and then push to somewhere.  :default_fishing:

The engine is quite noisy.

Time to go home. On the way back we stopped at the Ubolratana dam/reservoir.

Not much water left inside.

Been there dozens of times, it is about 25 minutes away from my wife's home north of Khon Kaen.  The restaurant there at the point looking out to the reservoir serves good food at very reasonable prices.  I have always enjoyed a trip there and very close by to the main entrance is the Buddhas Footprint (Wat Phra Bat Kham) which is well worth a trip up.

Nice report, thanks for posting
