Seeing how governments panic all over, I can imagine what would be the outbreak of a real war.....

Allies ?  Sorry, that was yesterday...you're on your own.

Completely different scenario. Closing borders helps to flatten the curve. Open borders have caused enough death and misery.

After all countries have closed their borders it is just nonsense mathematically.

If is only valid.between country A with zero of minimal infection and country B with high infection rate. In that case it makes sense for A to close its border with B.

Between countries with identical infection rates it doesn't change much. So who is afraid of who ? US crom Canada or vice versa ?

Need to reinstaure the SS to rein in all those bad citizens.. And shoot them.

Maybe we should also oblige everybody who is suspected of being Corona.positive to wear a clear mark, a bith like the yellow star. Remember ?

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/18/italy-charges-more-than-40000-people-violating-lockdown-coronavirus

One of the most serious cases happened in Sciacca, Sicily, when a man who had tested positive for Covid-19 was discovered by police while out shopping, despite the strict order to self-isolate at home. Prosecutors opened an investigation and accused the man of “aiding the epidemic”. If convicted, he faces 12 years in prison.

On 10 March, a 30-year-old man was stopped by the police in Turin at 2.30am while soliciting a sex worker.

Police near Venice pressed charges against a priest because he was officiating at a funeral; funeral services are banned under the decree. Another priest was reported for the same reason in Torre Annunziata in Campania, together with relatives of the deceased.

There is no limit anymore in this madness ....

How long before the people revolt / start figthing together and it all end in mayhem ?

Shoot them. I'm not even joking. Anyone that refuses a safe and tested vaccine for this just fucking shoot them. Do it on t.v and make it clear that it's not optional.

I'm pleased to see in the UK that the opposition parties are behaving responsibly, and not trying to make political capital out of the crisis. We are in uncharted territory, with no right or wrong answers. We have elected a government to lead us, and the most important thing is that we all respect those leaders and their decisions.

I have been watching the Trump press conferences, and it is disappointing to see some of the questioners trying to score points over Trump. That is not going to help their country get through this crisis.

Irresponsible and selfish idiots are putting not only themselves in danger, but everyone they come in contact with.

People are not being told to do such things for no reason.

If people won't adhere to the things being put in place by the best minds in their country, through stupidity, arrogance, selfishness or whatever, then they deserve all they get.

You're still getting on like this is nothing, you know better than the best scientists and health professionals the world over.

We get it, you don't care, you think you know better, you actually boast about running round shaking hands with people.

Meanwhile another 475 people died in Italy today alone.

You Sir would make Chairman Mao or Joseph Stalin proud......Volumes have been written from here to the moon and back about all the unsavory immoral unethical and illegal activity that governments have been involved in.....So no I would not trust a vaccine for Corona for one second.....I believe in sharing so your welcome to my dose...lol

Anti-vaxers are causing kids to die by going against all the medical evidence. Any jizzstain that causes unnecessary suffering by declining a safe and tested vaccine is a threat to the world. Shoot them and make an example to others. It's what conspiracy theorist wankers and anti-vaxers deserve.

To think we could have been looking to Jeremy Corbyn, Diane Abbott and John McDonnell to steer us through a global pandemic and a financial catostrophe.

Numbers.....

Italy's crude death rate is 10,6 per 1000

https://knoema.com/atlas/Italy/Death-rate?mode=amp

Population 60.000.000 : 1000 x 10,6 = 636.000 "normal" death per year.

636.000 : 365 days = 1.742 "normal" death per day

Yes, the 475 in 1 day is sad, but it is a exceptional number taken on 1 day, statiscally non representative. Not to mention that of those 475 a certain number would maybe have died anyway and classified in the "normal death" categorie..

Yes Corona IS a serious problem, but overhyping, dramatizing, and mediatizing has complete gone mad.

And nobody thinks about its long term consequences.

There is NO NEED to panic.

Very good point- one even the Polymaths on here should reflect on.

I watched channel 4 news interview last night centered why hasn't the UK got enough ventilators . It set about unearthing evidence from years back about warnings- all valid and accurate, but totally pointless.

Right now the better question would how we build and supply more.

We do need to pull together and get through this

Anyone trying to compare this to the nazis, or use the analogy of one Country invading another, taking over it, raping looting and pillaging it, subduing it's population by whatever means it wants, or singling out and persecuting certain sections of it etc is a bit nuts IMO.

This a response from Governments the world over from advice from their best scientists and health professionals to protect their own population.

Unless of course you think it's all some sort of conspiracy by the Illuminati, NWO or whatever it's flavour of the month in those mad websites for misfits the world over.

There was some news footage yesterday showing the French police stopping a woman and asking her "Where are your papers?"

Haven't we been here before?

Yes, and that's why I consider this INACCEPTABLE and personally would do all I can to reject the way this path is leading.

BTW, I read the French papers, it's much worse than you think.

Hmmmmmm...No, they look at the political aspect first, how it could impact them negatively. Also probably how to could use the opportunity to look good for the next election.

Do you think Trump's first consideration is the people or himself ?

They ALL (include the scientist) think about covering their ass also, just in case they got it wrong.

Not saying they dont care about us, sure they do a little bit, but dont forget they are professionnal politicians first and above all.

Of course, and what makes them look good, getting the country and population through this as best they can.

Though the analogy of comparing this to the Nazis and 'haven't we been here' before etc, is still ridiculous.

I reckon the only thing worse than lockdown and self isolation is having to read and listen to the conspiracy nutcases the world over wanking themselves into a frenzy over this.

Edit -

* Not talking about any board members in particular 😇

No mate. I normally laugh at them, but my head would be in the oven by the weekend.

There should be a Chinese style lockdown on the morons on social media at the moment.

That said, strong rumour London is going to go into a Spain style lockdown very soon, army to help enforce it.
