California Governor Gavin Newsom's office has taken mask mandates to the next level - telling those eating out at restaurants that they should wear a mask "in between bites" in order to "keep those around you healthy."

👍

Keep California Healthy!

If you look at the blurb at the beginning of the so called "report" it mentions the "Rule of Law Society" and the "Rule of Law Foundation". These are anti CCP propaganda organisations run by one Guo Wengui born 10 May 1970 or 5 October 1968, also known under the names Guo Wen Gui, Guo Haoyun, Miles Guo, and Miles Kwok. Guo is a mate of Steve Bannon and also a member of someone's Mar-a-Lago resort.

another thing ...

Barely 8 months ago when we saw some black rapper style youngster greeting each other with the closed fist, knuckle greet all white people where going "fecking n....s, they should lock up all them drugged rappers, etc..."

And guess what ? Nowadays you have 60+ years old guys doing this shit plus the elbow dance and being proud of it because they help "save lives"

F.F.S. guys, do you realize how ridiculous you look when doing that ?

Me, it's handshake (and hug for old French friends), anybody that doesn't want my hand can f**k off. If you don't trust my handshake, you shouldn't even think about speaking to me.

Rant over, but still, I had 2 times in the last month when I had to F.O. some guys about this. Just gave them a blank stare, "are you serious" and did an 180.

Not that I really care........

Going to the bank, one seat in two is crossed. Miss and me sit together receive some looks for not respecting DAS ORDER.... FFS, we sleep together but in the bank we should sit 1 m apart from each other ?

The world has thrown all common sense overboard and has gone completely mad !

Well for me, anyone who has so little respect for me they wouldn't do something so simple to help keep me and them from catching the virus can f**k off!  The ignorance is astounding, and i meant that in every sense of the word.

I don't want to catch it, i don't care how serious or not serious some view it, i personally don't want to catch it, period!  So i will do what i can to negate the chance of catching it.

Ridiculous?  To me what's ridiculous is those people who moan like f**k about lockdowns etc, but then refuse to do the basics and use common sense to help stop the spread and more restrictions, who are so narrow minded and selfish they continue to not give a f**k and actually purposely put themselves and others in danger of catching this, and then get on like they're boasting about it, judging others who are doing nothing but trying to keep themselves and those they keep in contact with safe from catching Covid.

To me, they can get to f**k!

Spot on

That said, I hope that when we meet up again, you will greet me with a sloppy French kiss as usual. 🙄😁💋

Personally, I don't care what I look like or what is perceived by strangers when I meet up with friends. I use an elbow greet instead of shaking hands, purely on a practical basis. I don't do it to look cool. When the pandemic is over, I shall resort back to the good old handshake. What is worse for me is listening to. Grumpy  60 +year olds moaning about what the cosmetics of social interaction

The rate of infection in London, where I live has risen sharply in recent weeks, and mainly because so many started to ignore the safety rules.

It is No coincidence that the number of cases went down during lockdown. But it was an imposed restriction

But once things started to open up again, it is clear that there is a section of the community who refuse to take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and continue to help the spread of the virus, just bas it was beginning to decrease.

No one wants lockdown to start again, but it Will happen if people care more about themselves and their self image and lifestyle than the greater picture.

Personally speaking, and I am in a higher risk grouping,I  have found ways to keep active and socialise where I feel moderately safe. Not without sacrifice either.

When i meet up with friends, we no longer shake hands. We don't see it as any major imposition nor are we offended by it. In fact, it's no big deal at all.

But the grumpy side of me, hates walking into a supermarket where there are clear instructions about wearing a mask and hand sanitation products for customers to use on entry and exit and they Completely ignore them. To me, that is total disrespect and disregard of their fellow citizens and a statement to say that they do not give a f*ck.

We all hate the Covid restrictions and the way that the virus has impacted on our lives in one way or the other.

But to ignore it, you become part of the problem and not the solution

If people don't want to be controlled by government then they must control themselves to the same end.

That is my rant over

Hear hear to both.

Have you noticed how those who are accepting and just getting on with what life is throwing at us, are doing just that, and doing it quietly, sensibly and with care and concern for themselves and others?

And those who object are the ones who are repeating themselves again and again and again and again and again, to the extent that those who are accepting and caring just switch off to them, and to the places where they continue to rant?

Some need to get a grip..... so to all the panic merchants..... so how many have caught the virus from shaking hands.

cheers

We simply don't know. But we know that skin contact is one of the ways that the virus can be contracted. That is science and why we are advised to regularly wash our hands.

I wash my hands every time after I take a shit. Not because I have to but because I want to for the sake of hygiene.

I don't panic when I go out, I just avoid any activity which may put me or others at risk. Just as I wear a seat belt when driving and make sure passengers do the same whilst I am at the wheel and ultimately responsible for their safety.

In the early days, I'd agree with you.

Of late, it is my opinion, which of course you are others are welcome to disagree with, that many of those who "conform", despite not enjoying having to do it,  just roll our eyes at those who don't.

Cheers

The way I see it, is what have I got to lose by conforming with the advice given to protect myself and others from the virus?

The answer is, frankly nothing. What have I got to gain by not observing the advice? The answer is an increased possibility of catching and spreading the virus.

I look at it in those simplistic terms.

You can't reason or moralise with a Virus who's only intent is to duplicate itself by being hosted in a human body to harm us.

Exactly.... it is not known. Inhaling and exhaling can pass it on too...so do we stop that???

If shaking hands is suppose to be dangerous because of skin on skin...so why is it safe to bump elbows skin on skin??? Is it something that has just been plucked out from somewhere and put out there.

I actually wash my hands after I go to the toilet..be it a shit or a piss .... so does that mean I am more hygienic than you???

I don't panic when I go out either.... but to me it is more dangerous when out and about by opening doors...handling things that others have.... using a communal chair or table... than shaking hands with someone...but we are not told to cease doing that.....lol.

Your question was "how many people have contracted the virus by shaking hands"

It is a proven Fact that C19 is airborn and can be passed on through inhalation and exhalation and contaminated services, both human and non human

Otherwise, how would account for the millions of cases throughout the world? Unless you are having a wind up

Am I going to lose or offend any friend or potential acquaintance by not shaking their hand during the current circumstances? I think not, just as I would not be offended.

But I would if they coughed in my face

Not having a wind up at all...... my question still stands..... now many people have actually contracted the virus by shaking hands.

We are are told that shaking hands spreads the virus because it is skin on skin... but the alternative is to bump elbows which involve skin on skin..... what is the difference........ skin on skin is skin on skin no matter if it is hands or an elbow.

Agree with you.....inhaling and exhaling can pass it on... but as said.... that has not been banned for an obvious reason.... but if it is.... then all of us would never have to worry about the virus at all....555

cheers

Unless you are wearing a TShirt or greeting a friend naked, then we are usually covering our elbows. There will be no sweat or moisture generally present and therefore much safer than bare skin on skin. Just as the way a condom would act.

Your written English is acceptable, therefore one would expect your comprehension to be the same standard.

I am half French on my mother's side and I grew up speaking both languages, but I might struggle a little if this was a French speaking site

If my post is not worth an answer, then no need for you to reply. I won't be offended. Fortunately there are others who have chosen to read, understand and reply to my posts

I am old, true, but not generally either grumpy nor scared (although I do have a slight fear of heights)

Just pragmatic

But hey, let's not deviate from the topic by making character assessments. We all have a point of view and the right to express them, so maybe I should be grateful that I do not have to rely on your assessment alone
