Craig McCaw owns an island just off where I live here.Hes a business partner of a friend of mine.

800 acres,has an 18 hole golf course on it.Called James Island.worth 80 million.Google it.Nice spot.

He decided he wanted a new G650 so he phoned Gulfstream and ordered one.

he has a G550 and another Bombardier.

He paid the deposit ,and was 16th in line.
After 10 months,he decides “jeez,I really don’t need another Jet,I have two,so I’m all good”.

he sells his position in line up for 7 million dollars to a guy who was 52nd in Line.

"M" registration, Isle of Man.

Some aircraft registrations give away their owners, some give away the country they are based in, and then there are some who give away the owners interests. Blackpool-based Blue Sky Leasing is a great example of the latter, with Gulfstream IVSP msn 1486 / M-YWAY taking its registration from the famous Frank Sinatra song.

Depends if you had a seat at the big table or not.

In July 1919 the International Commission for Airline Navigation allocated civil airliner registration prefixes to every nation.

Members of the Empire were given the letter G- followed by the next one or two letter signifying the country itself, for Australia this was G-AU, New Zealand G-NZ.

This operated until 1927 when the International Radiotelegraph Convention in Washington, USA produced a revised table of registrations which were adopted by ICAN.

As Australia did not have a seat on ICAN it was allocated random letters and was arbitrarily allocated VH-, so G-AUEH became VH-AEH, dropping the prefix and first letter of its original British Empire code.
