Great points there, and there are some great staff who will now suffer as a consequence of it closing. Businesses born, raise, succeed (or not) , go broke... Staff goes and come, factory closes,staff is laid off. Key point is that the employer respects the law and when laying off people pays them what they are entitled to. So did Secrets paid their staff the appropriate compensation ? ? A set of 12 mandates that encouraged amongst many things moving away from Thai traditional dress and adopting western dress. In the 1930's women would have worn only Thai style trousers and went topless. Very interesting and those mandates are the basis from which modern Thailand is formed.
