Wot u gonna do?

Most of us will be staying at home an awful lot for the foreseeable future. So how are you going to deal with the time? e.g.

Are you setting yourself any objectives?

Are you going to stick to a daily routine?

How do you intend to deal with food?

Are you going to schedule 'phone/Skype calls with people in the same way as you would have arranged meetings with them?

What are your plans to maintain mental and physical health?

If you have a partner living with you, have you agreed upon conciliation procedures? 🙂

As I've said on other threads we have an old mate & his missus with us so at present lots of drinking & joking.

They're trying to go back to China at the end of the month so that's when I'll be getting bored. On arrival they'll have to go into solitary isolation in an hotel at approx £500 each for two weeks.

Our village library is just up the road so that'll be getting some usage so long as it remains open.

My mum lives about 6 miles away & she got a groceries delivery today from Tesco that we ordered last week so although bored she should be ok.Going to try to get her to go for a walk with me on Sunday, which is Mothering Sunday here in the UK.

Thank f**k for the internet!

I live alone but my Dad only lives 20 mins away .. been doing his shopping for him since he came out of hospital a few weeks ago , will continue to do that ..

I'm retired so no need to worry about going to work

hired a cross trainer for three months ( can extend ... )

I enjoy genealogy and have subscriptions to Ancestry/ Find my past - so will devote some more time to that

loads of books to read ,  and can do so whilst sitting in the sun on my balcony

my Birthday will be a bit quiet this year ... was going to be in Patts for it 🥳

I don't see it being an issue for me , but I know I'm in a very lucky situation

Similar ...I'm not retired working 18 hour days but yep reading and furious masturbation on the cards as isolated from Thailand.

Like Stillearly my birthday will be muted this year  Pattaya trip fcuked............. Its a McCartney year !!!! :default_drinks:

I sent my employees home almost 2 weeks ago when the schools and kindergartens closed, a handfull of my workers have children. Told them to work from home. Usually it is just me in the offices now, so I can finally run around the office stark naked during work hours 😍 ... But fridays are boring, my office girl used to bring homebaked cakes each friday, I miss that.

Just had this conversation an hour ago.

You can still go out, just keep your distance, unless you're in a high risk group, then they want you to stay in.

They specifically said you can take your child to the park, which we will do every day. Clissold Park is near us, lovely big park, deer and everything. Kick a ball, have a picnic weather permitting, Daddy will do jogging. Just have to be sensible, no groups, at least 2 metres between people except families.

I use 'My Fitness Pal' app, which are really good, send out emails all the time, have sent lots out in the last few days about exercising at home.

Food, you can still go out and get, sure takeaways are still open. Think you'll find those that didn't offer a takeaway service may well start now.

I'll have my work phone with me all the time during the day, so can respond/answer emails etc as and when required.

My missus is the most pleasant, caring, easy going person I know, with a good sense of humour, we'll be absolutely fine in that regard.

Years ago i'd just have got me a couple of 9 bars of pollen, robbed a few kegs of beer and happily shut up shop until this blew over.

Nowadays, I don't know, I might even get around tom watching game of thrones!

Apart from the school run which took an hour in the mornings, the wife and I don’t really have a routine, nor have we planned one for our isolation cells.
Neither of us work, but we always manage to fill our days.

I love reading, listening to music, cooking and a bit of light DIY, so I’ll be ok down in my shed.

The wife always has her head in a book on some or other subject, plus she’s also into several types of music, but will miss her visits to various temples, or getting together with her friends to eat, but that’s all out the window now, but she doesn’t seem to mind.
Non of us, including our son, watch much telly, maybe that will have to change soon.
Just got off the phone to our sons guitar and piano teachers and they are setting up online video lessons via Zoom, so at least he’ll get those lessons at home. Plus his school has been using online homework lessons for over a year, so he’s used to doing schoolwork online. Thank god I’ve just bought him a tv for his room, so I’ll hook up his laptop to it and that’s him sorted. All his after school sports activities have been cancelled, but we can do some sports in the garden if needs be.
We can always walk down the bottom of the garden and walk in the countryside, without having to see or meet anyone.

Any free time we have, we’ll have to fill up with having sex I suppose. 😉

You're not listening to this pish from the Government are you?

Mind you, your gaff is crawling with the virus isn't it. That's what you get when you cram every disease on earth into a concrete jungle.

I've had a terrible flu for weeks, out later for a bit of spreading😃

Been working from home for 2 weeks straight already. Easy for people like me; Im far more efficient without the commute and easily manage 10 to 12 meetings a day with most days starting 8 am and finishing 5 to 6 pm.

Granted Im used to work from home 2 days a week and have my own office unlike most, but if we all start doing this regularly imagine the beneft on the transport costs, congestion on the roads, and the environment.

I will be working 50hr weeks to help cover for staff that have kids or are sick. I'm off tommo but I have arranged to help out at a homeless hostel. There is f**k all to do now the pubs, cinema and gym are closed.

I won't be sitting at home and watching mind numbing Netflix or the daily depressing covid death count. Get used to it this is going to be life for months at least. I just hope the weather improves tbh that will at least cheer me up.

I'll be sitting on my arse doing f**k all but drinking 😅 and watching the death count increase.

I'm a full time carer for my 79 year old mother who has bowel cancer so I'm loathed to even leave the house for shopping (there's fck all on the supermarket shelves here) but I keep trying late at night when there's fewer folk about. Now, even that's become more difficult because my drug addicted neice nicked my car Tuesday night. Not seen her since but plod have been informed.

So, I'll do my household duties as normal and continue to see the TW via video chat etc.

When I eventually get a hour or 2 for myself I enjoy a few beers and a good movie. I also feed the garden birds a lot and at this time of year when they are building nests and ready for breeding there's quite a few different species to be seen.

Watching the news has become scary so I limit myself in my viewings.

I will be working from home probably for months. I limit my looking at any news. My plans involve taking a daily stroll on a wooded trail 2 minutes from my condo, binge watching some series with a few movies thrown in, reading and breaking out my free weights and exercise bike. I am one of the lucky ones as my income doesn't stop. I am not going to sit around and mope. As grim as this situation is, I refuse to surrender and throw in the towel on the things I enjoy. I live in a very rural area so social distancing is no problem. My parents were kids during WW2 and they said if they can survive that, then this too they will overcome. I will not let this shit storm beat me. But then again, I am one of the lucky ones.

I am also at the point where we are looking at all working from home.  mine is a small team but they all socialise independently so the chances are someone will at some point get sick.  we have a network which is the best in the building and a system that allows me to sign in and run desks virtually, even do shows.  thats  probably going to be our way forward, I am guessing I will decide next week after a few less attractive changes.   the thing is tho that many of us will just get bored.  i can see that being the key issue..  as our income turns to shit anyway perhaps I will get a job as a hand sanitser operative  at tescos, they need one for sure.

during the coup I invested in state of the art gear ready for our comeback.  that means that we can see the screens, and run the decks  from anywhere IF a pc is set up with the login and programming.  and thats the way many are doing it in the Uk already,   still live, but from a safe distance

but being me I will still go to work in the studios.  no on else there so should be safe.. If I wear a worthless mask and dont touch anythign without steel mesh gloves on 😉

If doctors can do remote surgery via the internet...

Spend your time wisely and design the necessary robot.
