I am also at the point where we are looking at all working from home.  mine is a small team but they all socialise independently so the chances are someone will at some point get sick.  we have a network which is the best in the building and a system that allows me to sign in and run desks virtually, even do shows.  thats  probably going to be our way forward, I am guessing I will decide next week after a few less attractive changes.   the thing is tho that many of us will just get bored.  i can see that being the key issue..  as our income turns to shit anyway perhaps I will get a job as a hand sanitser operative  at tescos, they need one for sure.

during the coup I invested in state of the art gear ready for our comeback.  that means that we can see the screens, and run the decks  from anywhere IF a pc is set up with the login and programming.  and thats the way many are doing it in the Uk already,   still live, but from a safe distance

but being me I will still go to work in the studios.  no on else there so should be safe.. If I wear a worthless mask and dont touch anythign without steel mesh gloves on 😉

Boredom is going to be a huge factor for many.  I do shift work so there are times when I have 3-5 days off in a row, but with f**k all open and nothing to do it's that boring you feel like crying. I'm going to do some extra shifts and voluntary work.

I have been given a free condo by my landlord and I’m staying there. Kids are with Mum at the moment.
Going to the bar every day but none are interested in the free food I’m offering. They’re just messaging me asking when we are open again.
They don’t realise that it won’t be for a considerable time. In general Thai people have no concept of international affairs.
I fear that once their salaries and bonuses that I paid them run out they will have a different feeling.
I’m absolutely determined not to moan about the situation because this is our time to shine.

I have had so many friends asking me if I’m OK and do I want to go out for something to eat, so I think today I’m going to have lunch with the owner of the runway bar.
Keeping it real.

Gutted for you pal. I'll be in Pattaya as soon as this blows over and yours will be one of the first bars I visit alongside the rockhouse and neyas bar.

I'll be giving my baht to the decent business operators in town and not the scum and filth who water down drinks or f**k over customers.

No rescue package announced by the Thai govt yet. No indication how they are going to help its people and businesses. Absolute charlatans.

I have been walking 3 to 5 miles every day whilst in Asia. I AM currently on my way home but realised many of my mates and family are in the high risk categorie . I need to isolate myself for 2 weeks. It's going to be real difficult.  Not sure quite how it's going to pan out but hopefully I can get out walking late at night when no one is about.

One of my mates has been food shopping for me today and got basics like bread, milk, eggs etc. I plan to order in 10 meals from the local indian and Chinese take away, then portion it up and freeze for meals later. I do like my TV and internet but get tired of it after a few days. I like my fishing and have some quite secluded lakes that I have access too. May be that will be an option.  Going to be tough all around me thinks.

I think the worst thing for me is not being able to watch the sport I love on the box.

Thanks to the wonders of the internet, moody media boxes and dodgy App's I have never had more opportunities to watch live sport of all types from football to golf to Cheltenham races to MotoGp to beating Scotland at Rugby etc etc. Whatever I chose to watch was available to me in Thailand for sweeties!

No Gooners tonight!

I am completely retired now as well so no couple of hours work each day online.

So today it was dog walking.

Cycle riding

Gardening

Two hours Kindle reading

Internet

Discussion with the wife about Covid 19.

We have both been reading conspiracy theories but not the same ones. Sai believes the USA intoduced it to China for reasons that are unclear. I on the other hand go for China doing it to themselves on the basis of what's half a million less chinese if you can wreck the rest of the world's economy?    We also did  who really shot JFK; the moon landing was filmed in Universal Studio and there are dead aliens hidden away in that place in the Nevada desert.  🤣

Probably do similar on Sunday but going fishing on Monday

Social distancing means avoiding unnecessary contact with other people and spending less time in public places, where a lot of people are around.

Everyone in the UK is now advised to follow self-distancing measures, especially the over-70s, pregnant women and adults normally eligible for a flu jab. When social distancing you must work from home where possible and avoid all unnecessary travel and public gatherings.

You can go for a walk or run outdoors if you stay 2m (6ft) away from others, go to the shops to buy groceries, see family and friends if it's essential, walk your dog, and provide essential care for elderly residents and neighbours - if you have no symptoms.

People that show coronavirus symptoms, or live with someone who is showing symptoms, have been asked to self-isolate.

The above it what's happening in the UK for most.

There's a small park and outdoor 5aside pitch literally on my doorstep. I'm just heading out now with my daughter, there's no one else there. Gonna do a bit of running, squats, star jumps, burpees, mountain climbers, lunges etc etc.

Hoping to do two 45 min sessions a day, keep me and my family sane.

My only fear is others will see us, and soon it will get packed.

Done!

Feel much better already.

Not sure about anyone else, but I think I have to get into some sort of routine to help get through this.

Every day at 11.45am I am going to do a  good 45 min work out at the park outside my home, try and test myself, gradually build it up, do stuff faster.

Just a small thing, but will certainly help me.

I went up to our village butcher today to get a chicken for tomorrow's roast but they had none, first time in 13 years I've been there & that's happened. So I bought some pork chops only to get home & get shit from the missus for not asking her first....always in the shit the only variable is the level 🤪.

Library is shut so I may have to get one of those Kindle things from Amazon.

Just ordered a set of dumbbells online.

I was looking at some of those adjustable ones online yesterday, they seem pretty good.  Ive been looking on YouTube as well, there's loads of decent routines to do in the house as well.

I was out on my mountain bike this morning for a couple of hours messing about on a course near me. I will need to get something else organised now the gyms shut.

I've ordered 3 sets in a row of dumbbells, then I get an email 10mins later saying out of stock.

Seems everyone is doing the same.

Had a good 45min workout in the park earlier, but apart from press ups, was mostly leg stuff. Need a set hand weights to balance it out.

Looking at ebay now ffs.

Whatever happened to press ups, sit ups, pull ups, burpees, crunchies, squats, squat jumps, squat thrusts even carrying a bag of bricks on your back or in your arms when you're doing them?  Snowflakes. 😉

Done 45mins of all of them an hour ago, well, apart from the bricks lol.

But most of them are leg or core stuff except the press ups. need a wee  bit of balance.

When you due to fly ?

Supposedly Wednesday, but Emirates cancelled my Dubai lgw flight.

Having waited for 40 and 50 minutes on the phone I took the initiative and rebooked on line for the same flights, but on Monday. I'll argue about the rebooking fee when I get home...

I have confirmation, and the website shows my booking now as Monday....

I work for a 6th form college which shut on Thursday, we are currently also moving into a brand new building with a brand new network, WIFI, and computers also new a way to manage our computers we have a month to have everything setup and move everything from the old building which is just about 100 meters away, the small team i manage will work two days at home and three days in the new building, The only issue i have is if the the London mayor insist on no travel or shuts down the TFL network then I am going to have an hours walk to work (I don't drive and never passed my driving test) which for me is not a problem. I know i am going to so busy for the next month it's going to go very quickly.

I live with my with my Dad who is still quite active at 83 but also quite an old git sometimes we are in a 3 bedroom house so we can avoid each other when needed. But I also feel the need to make sure he will be okay he likes to go out and be in the Legion clubs and pubs he is a very social person and I think he is already getting twitchy. he likes racing I hate it,  in almost everything he likes i dislike but I always try and find a compromise. Also his lady friend is currently messing him around, so I have him home more than normal. I'm pretty sure I can manage my time at home. I think i will miss my Saturday and Sunday in the pub but hey i'm sure it will all get better in the end.

I love my music and i use the computers, tablets, and phone all the time I'm in contact with a lot of people over the internet, and will be using MS Teams for my meetings I can remote into work. as when i need to plus I have a lot of learning to do so being at home a couple of days a week will be good.

Anyway stay safe and all the best

Emirates cancelled a lot of UK flights today.   Edinburgh (daily x1), Newcastle (x1), Stansted (x1) and Gatwick (x3) from what I saw, mostly until the end of June.  My return booked for June has also been affected.  Gatwick finishes on Tuesday so you just missed it!

Are you sure it was a rebooking fee you were charged?  My outbound changes earlier this week had no change fee, but the fare difference was charged and with less than 3 days until your flight that could push the price up.  I would hope they would refund it anyway if you couldn't get through on the phone where it likely wouldn't have been charged.
