Popular Post Sherlock Posted May 29, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 29, 2020 Decided to extend my daily walk today, and walked the entire perimeter of Heathrow airport. Started at Hatton Cross along North perimeter road, pass the tunnel and all the way into T5. Them past there and into the Cargo village and T4. After that back onto Hatton Cross to complete the walk. It is so unbelievably quiet here at Heathrow. No cars, no people, and all these car parks empty of cars! its a longer walk than you realise. 19.8KM that took just over 4 hours to complete from start to finish. Weather was great, 11mph wind and beautiful sunny blue bird sky. My feet are killing me now. 17 1

Toy Boy Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 It's probably going to be even quieter after June 8th and the start of mandatory quarantine!
Golfingboy Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Great set of pics, TFP. Was surprised to see an Air Canada jet there 1

tommy dee Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 brill p[ics, thx for reminding me I am old. in the 80s you drove to a carpark opposite the temrinal, prob 3 floors, and parked then walked into your terminal. it was so small back then. and in the 60s no multi storeys and HR was 2 floors. cafeteria has a huge propelller hung from the ceiling. now its a monstrosity really to cater for the zillions 1
Horizondave Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 Wouldn't mind walking around the airport but 4 hours is too much for my old heart.... 1

bexwell Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 I landed at Heathrow on the 26th of March and as far as I could see we were the only people in the airport or at least T3 (I think). When we got to Passport control it was empty , ours were the only cases being collect at Baggage then I went to the underground and there wasn't a soul there and ended up only being people from my flight, about 5 of us, that caught the next train that was 20 minutes later, I didn't see anybody at any of the stations all the way to Green Park, I got off and walked to the Jubilee line and never saw anyone else in the station and as far as I could see I was the only person on that train all the way to North Greenwich where I saw one member of staff and a beggar. It felt surreal.
