Walking along the river!

I lived in Teddington for six years and the walk from the lock to Richmond was a standard afternoon out on the weekends. It's a nice part of the world, especially given that it's surrounded on all sides by the big city, but I hated the daily commute into Waterloo, and then walk across the bridge to the Strand, with a passion. That was what made me pack my bags and leave in the end.

You're right - that part of the Thames is tidal as far as Teddington Lock (Teddington=Tide End Town)

I work in the White Cross (featured in the photos), and you can see from the outer white wall the high tide mark in yellow!! Its a very mean high tide we suffer from on that part of the Thames in Richmond!

Know those places very well, spent much of my younger days around there.

Nice pics mate.

So did I.

I used to use publc transport to get from Highgate Village to fish the tidal stretch of the Thames at Richmond. In those days great fishing and well worth the effort.
