Marshall is still the fastest bowler I've ever seen live. Watched him bowl in very murky live to Gower, think he had him first ball. Didn't see the ball till it bounced off his pad and the umpire gave him out LBW- mind you I don't think Gower saw it either . Tragic he was taken so young. Like listening to Michael Holding commentate, him and Tuffers are my favourites.
Painter
Used to watch Hampshire at the County Ground as a kid, including Marshall. My father knew one of the young players in the Hants team. During one game, dad asked him to get us Gordon Greenidge's signature, but he couldn't as the great Greenidge was "having an afternoon nap". Instead we got a sheet with the entire squad's signatures. Still got that sheet somewhere. 1

coxyhog
Good win for England from good positive tactics,Stokes put in a superb all round performance but maybe crocked for the decider. If he can't bowl he has to be included purely as a batsman.

coxyhog
I just read that the deciding test is at Manchester again....OK no fans so it doesn't really matter which venue but you'd think they would pick one with less chance of rain!
