Those beach pictures make you want to despair .........mind you anyone see recent pics in UK of Bournemouth beach after sunshine and Liverpool after the Premier League win ....... we are not that much better especially the young in UK.

Don't you go making dissasparagus remarks about my favorite UK beach!  🤣

For something like 15 years or more I used to go with three mates for a weeks golfing/fishing/casinoing/drinking/men behaving very badly holiday to Bournemouth always during the first full week in September being the week after the kids have gone back to school. Always stayed in the same hotel which was full of old dears ( big drop in price - no kids) and we used to see the same ones every year less the ones that sadly had not survived. The old dears loved us in the restaurant because we were always the last in from pre-dinner aperitifs and immediately ordered two bottles of wine instead of a starter.

What the f**k am I rambling on about?

I remember, Bournemouth beach.

The Hotel was high up on a "chine" and had a wonderful stunning views of Bournemouth beach. Apart from one year the weather in Bournemouth in the first week of September was excellent. I am sure Bournemouth has some micro weather system all to itself.

All the tasty totty on the beach were foreign students or au pairs and they were all hot for four piss heads 30 years older than them. We played hard to get naturally. Funny, we were very successful at not getting got! 🤣

If they were at home we watched Bournemouth FC on our last Saturday. They were not very good in those days. Gone full circle.

Nothing wrong with Bournemouth.

Apart from the unbelievably expensive car parks.

That is why many don't go to Pattaya for the beach but are happy to complain about it, we all knew that didn't we.

That is why i posed the question "Does anyone go to Pattaya for the beach" ? i know why i go to Pattaya and it certainly is'nt for the beach lol

Pattaya for me is the best place in the world for relatively inexpensive partying and lovely available gals and long may it continue or should i say "i hope it returns to its former glory and quick". It just happens to be on the coast with some sand ? and a filthy sea.

Yeah, did a lot of exploring around the south.

The beaches around Hat Chao Mai National Park (south of Pak Meng) are particularly nice.

Pattaya beach is dead, hardly anyone on it day or night except for homeless, derelicts, drunks sleeping it off and the all too rare local. Before Covid the place was busy with the transient bus loads of budget tourists on their way to Koh Lan and elsewhere--rarely hanging at the beach.. The "saving" of the beach with tanker loads of sand from elsewhere seems to have turned it into a lifeless, sterile beach that hardly anyone wants to spend time on. As opposed to Jomtien beach which is quite busy with Thai families, groups of friends, couples and beach lovers of all kinds on most days. Now I just saw that the City Fathers in all their worldly wisdom have allocated 1 billion baht to do the same thing that destroyed Pattaya beach to Jomtien---tanker in tons of sand, chop down many of the old broad leaved shade trees and make it safe for busloads of non-existant budget tourists. I guess they call it progress!!!!

Pattaya has a beach?  I didn't know that. I guess I've just spent all my time looking at the women. 😜

Most people tend not to shit on their.own doorsteps but many do not care about shitting on other people's.

Out of sight out of mind

Beach and sea pollution is even worse than fly tipping.

To an individual chucking a discarded plastic bottle on the beach it seems like nothing. But when hundreds of people think the same way it equals disaster.

Nothing Benefits from it.  It affects birds, marine life, coral, apart from ruining beaches for tourists and locals.

It doesn't help either when governments pipe raw sewage into coastal areas.

How hard is it to carry a small bag and take your rubbish when you leave?

Some of us remember a beach we used to sit on for most of the day whilst being happily bothered by lovely girls offering their services. Girls who would take your shoes off back in the room and would insist on washing your clothes and folding them.

The beach back in the 80's was a good place to be.

I changed my view many years ago and moved my lounging to Jomtien. The girls also moved off the beaches and started parading around the Coconut bar areas.

No, the beach is no longer the attraction it once was but then again, for me, Pattaya itself doesn't hold the attraction it once did, plenty of better resorts with the things I desire elsewhere in Thailand.
