isnt it about time we heard what BMs are DOING during this messy time?  I cant believe we all sit at home dwelling on misery after all.

For me, we are away every 3-4 weeks.  somewhere.  anywhere.  done BKK, Ban Chang and Samet this weekend.  Ok its the rainy season and Yes these arent far away, but a great break.

this weekend we hit the island.  it was empty, a fab time to see it too.  Hotels are halving prices nationwide, and all happy to greet you.  we rented a bike for 300 a day and did the whole island end to end, hiding in the odd somtam stall or coffee shop during showers.  even found a cove with no wind that was like a millpond and swum.  came home early today as the swell was due to build up again in the sea and she goes green with the waves.  we went with the usual ex fishing boat/junk turned ferry but cam back in the new, to me, speed ferry. which was 10-15 mins tops and never bumped once.

so comeon, what you been up to,?  or do you really sit in front of the telly all weekend, .. I doubt that 🙂

Went to the beach today. Nice weather -- warm & clear.

Walked a bit. Snapped a few photos. Watched the world go by...

Made Wagyu tacos at home later. Washed them down with some local beer.

Other than wearing a mask to be conscientious around strangers... life is about normal (for me at least).

Last month spent moving house from London to Neath in Wales. Best move I ever made; Porn and Kataleya are so happy here, we feel blessed.

The change in our living standard, and for £270 less a month than London, is exponential, truly is.

So much to do and see, must put some pics up....

I have been visiting a few places in Issan.... latest was a couple of nights at Udon Thani and Khon Khan.

As Tommy said...some good deals on the hotels...especially midweek and happy to welcome you.

I noticed that there seem to be a few mid week conferences going on in hotels for one or two days ...especially with some Govt departments... so the hotels are getting some good business.

I was in Khon Khan Monday and Tuesday ..... stayed at the Kosa Hotel.... was about just over half full. The Pullman hotel reopened a few weeks back.... and on the Tuesday was fully booked out.

cheers

Pullman, my hotel of choice in Khon Kaen.  Used to be a member of the gym, great hotel with a small cake shop doing some great eats. Of course the draft German style ale in the 'Underground' is a great pull.

The Kosa hotel used to have a great beer garden, it is still there but much more open now and not so atmospheric as it once was.

2 of my favourite restaurants nearby as well.  Pomodoro for great Italian food ,  great variety of pizzas, plenty of seating inside and out.....  Yokotai, a Dutch restaurant which offers European fare, reputedly never has a non drink day, I have been there drinking out of mugs on a Buddha day and it was pretty obvious where the action was with all the other bars closed. Some nice eye candy serving in there too but food is good.

Have a place north west of the city.

As said... the Pullman has opened up after it was completely closed for awhile.  The Kosa beer garden is still going and was open. ..... admittedly a little quieter at present but still had fair patronage at night.

The bars ...except for Mybar had a fair crowd seeing it was week nights and overall things were close to being back to normal.

cheers

My Gym opens today, the deal is you have to make an appt, you get 1 1/2 hours, 64 people total at one time. They clean for 30 minutes, then if there are not another 64 people waiting for the next 1 1/2 hour appt, you can do another time slot. No cardio, pool is not open, no basketball or lockers are available. Ok, I will try it out and see.

Similar situation here in Colorado. I found out what is worse than wearing a mask when working out at the gym ---------- wearing a wet mask. I lasted all of 15 minutes before my perspiration had my mask thoroughly wet to where breathing through it became intolerable.

My gym opened a couple of months ago.

You don't have to wear a mask on the premises as all.

One way system, have to book before hand online or via their app, so they have details if need to contact you re covid.

You get an hour slot, first 10 mins to clean, 40 mins workout, last 10 mins to clean again.  They only give an hour, so everyone gets a chance, though you can book as many times or an many times a day as you like, if there is the availability.

I used to go 3 times a week, but now do 4 as it's only 40mins, currently.

Yes, @Thai Spice has a similar 'gym', only his bar is actually called 'the gym' 😄

Local's were very happy to have us there, much needed cash methinks.

Yeah so everything went really well at the gym yesterday, 64 people max, only 19 guys there at 11:00am. Your session ends at 12:30pm, they clean for 30 minutes, very impressive to see, then they let me back in to finish up my routine.....all good. Will be back to my regular 3 days per week now. Just hope the local infections stay trending lower, then they said they can make some more improvements like opening the indoor pool, basketball etc.

Was good to see my friend Karen again LOL!

Life is good ... it is what you make .. regardless of the ups and downs ..... and the bullshit .. f**k it .. live free and happy ( at least that is my attitude and nothing is going to stop me from doing )

We were in Patts a couple of weeks ago ... then we went back home in the South and then drove up to Koh Mook ( a beautiful pace ) .. stayed a couple of days ..

Seems lately I have been back in BKK every week ...for a couple of days ...

No road police road blocks taking your temperature ...  very easy to get on a plane from Hat Yai to BKK ..

Mask wearing ( in the deep South ) really doesn't exist ... in BKK .. so so ... social distancing in BKK .. a big joke

Ziggy is back in school without the plastic "jail cells" ...

Beach Gals flower store is rocking and rolling .. like usual ... it makes me laugh .. she has a "factory" .. I am serious

We are happy and healthy ....

Except the fish ... I go out in my long tail every morning when I am home in the South ( Ziggy usually comes with me ) and I can't ever get a bite .. WTF ....

Ridley Road Market fully open and every Turkish restaurant round your way packed to the rafters with NO social distancing.

Bad news is the Ultra Orthodox Jews in Stamford Hill have the highest infection rates right now in the UK so take care mate 88 per 100,000 unreal.

Dead Rabbis ............ including Rabbi Pinter their spiritual leader Oy Vey and all that. Problem is they think same in Mea Sharim in Jerusalem (been there) and Brooklyn (been there) that the laws and rules don;t apply to them. Fine but they still go shopping in the same supermarkets OK not in bars, cafes or pubs but .......... I would imagine not too many Ultra Orthodox Hassidic Jews in Indonesia mon ami ????
