Horizondave
Well since I moved in to my place over 2 months ago I have paid the Royal Mail to redirect mail for myself, Porn and Kataleya. It has worked well and has reminded me that a couple of companies I hadn't thought about needed to know my new address. I believe now I have told everybody who needs to know my address and I doubt I will see any mail being redirected although I am paid up for 6 months. Of course the previous tenants didn't do such a good job at any redirection. When I moved in there was mail arriving regularly for them and not just mail but small parcels as well. I let the estate agent know who took the first batch of mail off me but told me I should just take them to the post office and get them returned to sender. Anyhow the tenant came around one day and asked for his mail, I told him that he needed to use the redirect service as I was receiving all their mail. That didn't really resonate with him as he believed I shouldn't get much more. I told him how cheap it was and he said he would sort it out. Then his girlfriend came the next day and asked me to text her if mail came around and she would pick it up, I told her she should use the redirect service but again this didn't seem to be important to her. Ok first time I got their mail I sent her a message and she said she would be around that evening to pick it up, of course she didn't turn up but did the day after when I was having an afternoon siesta which pissed me off. I gave her the mail to which she replied 'is that all' which didn't go down well with me. I then told her to sort it out for good as I was not a postal service and it was an inconvenience to me. I am still getting mail but you can guess where it is now going and I haven't been in touch by text etc. Why can't some people just do the right thing. 2
Stillearly
I moved home last year , I did a redirect service as well , but as soon as I knew I was going to move , I went through as many as possible and switched to electronic Mail , most physical mail I get these days is junk which goes straight in the bin anyway

AJSP
Yes, can understand you bring pissed off as it’s not a lot of cost for a very good service offered by the Royal Mail. They sound both lazy and skinflints to me and if they’re that desperate for their Mail they know exactly what to do or should have done even if it was for a matter of weeks. 📬

I would write on them not at this address and repost them, they will soon get pissed off.

I did that for some of their mail but they kept coming, I need to go to post office or post box which is an inconvenience to me. Once or twice but ongoing wasn't an option.
RR007
I still get post and bank statements galore from previous lodgers from the last 11 years.....last week had NHS Doctors letter for female from 2013 asking her to book Smear test ! Vasile a Romanian who left in 2016 had a new credit card sent through in September lol. I do open all stuff now bar obvious mailshots which get automatically binned

I am still getting letters, some look important but not to me. The bin has a purpose and has been used quite a few times and even in the last week; I have been in the house for 6 months come next week and it has now become just a minor inconvenience. Horizondave
As somebody just liked this thread I thought I would update. On occasions still getting mail and some has been opened as they have been from Debt Collectors and actually say on the letter to open even if not the person named on the letter. I now know the previous tenants are over £35,000 in debt and are not responding to appeals to pay, no wonder they moved house and did not redirect their mail. The debt agencies have been advised. Thing is the female tenant has probably missed a personal vaginal check up appointment as the letter was opened by my wife and binned. I did eventually pass a subsequent letter about her prognosis to my surgery (same as hers) but after the appointment. A bank statement in the previous tenant's name came which showed an account had been opened since I have been residing at the address, a visit to the bank was needed to advise them that nobody in that name lived at the address. Housing associations offering a home were received, the letter stated they would be taken off the list if they did not reply were binned. Car tax reminders from DVLA were binned. It has got quiet but was looking forward to Christmas cards with money and vouchers in their name arriving..... 2
