Pattaya News has now posted three timeline articles of infections around Pattaya this evening, each about 40 - 50 minutes apart. I suspect it's not PN fault they're reporting this info piecemeal, but the govt that's at fault for not releasing the info all at once. Wish there was a single source for up to date info on infections.

This one is a little odd.

  1. Mix 37 Pattaya in Banglamung on December 30th from 8:00 P.M. to midnight.

61 people have died due to the Covid-19 virus in Thailand in 2020. Still under 7,000 total cases in a country with approximately 70 million people.

Shut down the economy!

Meanwhile, over 20,000 deaths occur on Thailand roads every year.

The roads, highways and toll roads remain open.

Just sayin'.

That track and trace if accurate is very impressive.

Mmmm.....

https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Coronavirus/How-Singapore-fights-COVID-with-contact-tracing-5-things-to-know

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00264-020-04646-2

SGP, South Korea and Japan had / have the most efficient tracing system. At the cost of losing completely any privacy .....

"One aspect of this is SafeEntry, a system for checking in and out of offices, shopping malls, cinemas and other places. Individuals are required to use their mobile phones to scan QR codes and enter some personal information. This way, they can be alerted if an active carrier happened to be in the same spot at the same time.

This is combined with the TraceTogether program, which uses a smartphone application or portable electronic tokens to track close encounters between people using Bluetooth wireless technology."

"Nonetheless, contact tracing is expectedly time consuming, laborious and with possible recall bias, especially if patients are unwell. Digital technology has come to aid in several ways. One technique that the authorities in Singapore are using is the examination of patient’s digital footprint [12]. ATM withdrawals and credit card activities, such as through ridesharing applications, credit card payments at restaurants or shopping centres, movement on public transportation, leave digital footprints and these can assist the authorities in finding out where the person has been and how they have travelled"

Well, you guessed my position already....f**k that.

What are you saying???

Do you mean that the virus and road accidents are the same??

Well if so... lets create a vaccine that all will have to have when they get/renew their license and the road tolls will magically disappear.... it will far better world wide vaccine than the covid one.

cheers

Interesting stats posted by Pattaya News.

Some interesting data here. These are the age and health condition charts for people with Covid-19 in Chonburi. Only 3 have anything over very mild symptoms with no risk factor. Vast majority asymptomatic at 243, 59 have mild no risk factor symptoms. From Chonburi Public Health Department.

If gambling weren't illegal id put my money on the 3 with more than mild symptoms being in the upper age brackets as well. I can understand the reactions on that post; is this what we're locking down the country for?

By the way, only 19! Positive cases in Bangkok yesterday. How on earth is that possible I wonder?

I think you may be forgoing the fact that this vaccine is a money making enterprise and not handed out for free lol.

all correct but the numbers for yesterday are false.  after the pr release, sokhon announced another 400 plus, which are due to be in todays release.  but thats a huge daily count

Health min wants Chonburi, Rayong and chantaburi locked down

expect chang and samet to follow Larn's move

I think he is also forgetting that the UK is importing both the Pfizer and Oxford vaccines presumably because the UK doesn't have the manufacturing capability to meet demand.

And of course, Thailand has a manufacturing agreement with AstraZeneca.

Some things are more important than money. Look at trumps response when the Chinese tried to blame US soldiers on the coronavirus. That's a real leader. There is no such thing as the 'UK variant', this is the Chinese coronavirus, and about time the British government started reminding people of that.
