Andy and Phil did go to his 'estate' in Loei and I did meet with him at the Pullman Hotel in Khon Kaen together with his wife, my wife and Andy with his wife.  I had also met him one time at the Rockhouse on a nice social gathering, seemed a nice guy.

A few people who left PL were assassinated online by the usual suspects but I wasn't expecting it from people who I had met in a social setting where nothing but positive vibes seemed the order of the day.  Me, I am not too fussed about it as I am unlikely to meet up with these people again but annoyed that my wife could be brought into a topic on a forum with negative comments made.

That's a real shame. I don't recall reading about it, could have been on another level which I don't belong to though.

I have never met VP whatshisname. Maybe sometime in the future, who knows. There are some who I actively avoid but he isn't one.

Yes would be real sad if true as we had dinner in Khon Kaen and I thought we got on well.  Seems when you leave PL you tend to get a good old dose of insults especially as I landed up on 247.  Fact is I left PL for the right reasons and joined 247 a while later, I didn't leave PL to join 247 as 247 hadn't yet started.  Mud slinging always takes place though when you become a past member and supposedly people I thought I knew were rather less than charitable about me and my wife. 

Still the thread was excellent.  I even had a good thread going about HuaHinDave which was everything Hua Hin but I believe that got lost during unscheduled downtime but then again what do I know, only get told some updates in passing.

If I did bump into VPI I would probably ask him myself what actually took place.

For what it's worth I don't recall him badmouthing you or your Mrs either mate.

Yeah VPI 78 met him a few times when he was in Bangkok. Had a blast with him, he turned me back on again to "Thermae" Had not been there in a few years and last time we met up, I took a run over there with him and another buddy in town. He was right! Some downright stunning looking girls in there. 

Met his friend John from Cactus too I believe who owned that club. BM Tessbruin joined us that night too.

I too wish I had gone to see his farm. He did not like or want to join this forum...too bad, his inputs and life on the farm were great reads.

Been in a few times now and I still can't get my head around the arrangement. There must be 200 girls plus packed in like sardines.

It's a little too intense for me to consider trying to pick up company in there!

I forgot I started this thread, only to find it because I wanted to ask more questions.

Firstly an update, About 3yrs ago I invested in fish and that's all I did. I gave 150k to mt telac and she went into partnership with someone who was already doing fish but had not money to buy stock. My telac does not do anything either, except when it comes to selling fish, then all hands on deck. It appears to be doing ok, even built new premises, because local gov wanted them to invest in new frontage. As it was rented and needed a new roof, they did not want to invest for someone else, so bult new premises on ladies land nearby. 

I also invested 200k in fruit. My telac buys the fruit in the ground from farm in bulk and then sells to marketers, skimming a bit each time. again no real work involved for my telac.

About 2 yrs ago I bought 450 rubber trees I think about 9 rai at 9yrs old for 400k. again I invest her son does the work and gives me half. I would like to know what 450 rubber trees should yield per Anum.I only want to see my investment back, so far received 90k back.

I also acquired some land prior to a road being upgraded from single to double lane and built a bar/shop/restaurant on it. Nothing like a bar in Pattaya, but it does keep her busy.

We have also dabbled in buying rice 500 x 50kg bags at 450b, keeping and selling at 750B. 
She is also involved in other business,  that is best not to go into to much detail.  

What I would like to ask is, if anyone knows anything about growing cassava animal food.  what profit (ball park) will 10 rai of land will bring in after buying seed, planting and cultivating labour?

I did the rubber tree farming thing back when I first moved here in 2009. Sounds like you're making a better go at it than I, the main difference probably being the quality of the lady you met. Mine I bailed on after about 7 months for various reasons. I also see via Google Earth the trees I planted went uncared for and eventually were plowed under and cassava was planted several years later.

My info on rubber trees is too old to be useful, but there are plenty of resources that can be found via Google search on current pricing and yields. The guy you want to get in touch with is on our sister forum, PA. Goes by the name udontony and has a long running topic on his life up country and his rubber tree farming (link - just realized that topic is in the Advanced section so you'll have to PM him for info).

What I do remember is while the ROI from the latex produced by the trees wasn't much, the real money to be made is when the trees reached the end of their production life, usually 20 - 30 years.

It was never My intension for me personally to make money from fish or fruit, it was a way for her to earn money and be independent. I think she makes about 15-20k every 3 months. fruit not so sure.
