There are some very strange people inhabiting the comments area on youtube.

It's shocking how many people think "Thailand" and "Taiwan" are the same place (or where Thais come from)

No matter how good your intentions are, someone will always find reason to moan.

Rant over. Cheers.

If that is the very worst you can come up with, it isn't that bad. The worst I ever heard was that Denmark (a country) is the capital of Amsterdam (the capital city of another country, the Netherlands).

You seem surprised.

Some of the older members of my family could not separate out any of the orientals from chinese. In their eyes all slitty eyes = Chinese, so not surprised tbh.

Mentioning no names, but some people think that Scandinavia is a country, lol.

Now who remembers who that was?

Wasn't that the same one who wanted to buy Greenland (and was quite surprised it wasn't for sale)?

It was actually the Thai tourism minister, who was talking about which countries would be given priority allowing them to start travelling to Thailand again (this was last year, I Think, before things went belly-up again), and near the top of his list was the "country of Scandinavia". He might have been taking geography lessons in the same class as the one you mention, though, lol.

crazy idiots all over the world - the internet gives them the capability to spout their rhetoric whereever they want whenever they want - look how trump was banned from faceache and twitter last year (disclaimer - im not saying that Trump is crazy - just how these sites control the output)

Also look at how these vloggers control their content by only keeping the 'good comments' (no one likes negative reviews / comments as it will ruin their agenda)

I suspect this is more a case of problems with English and especially singular/plural, "countries of Scandinavia" would make sense.

From a while back some dumb female said she thought Europe was a country. Wonder which country she came from? (Hint the former president who claims the last election was rigged comes from the same country )

No real surprise there!😐

Ignorance is not confined to one country. We have plenty of it in the UK (and that includes Scotland!). Think back to Jade Goody, for example.

Jade Goody was English but yes Scotland has its share of morons, many of whom were elected to Westminster (all parties) and more recently Holyrood.
