Hanoi street life.

This is what its all about in the evenings. Sat on the street with a beer and some food, and just watching the world go by. I could happily do this every single night i'm there.

You can get 4 beers for 20,000VND on the street. That is only 60 pence , or for our American brothers, that's only $1 USD, it is that cheap!!

And then the Police turn up, and every thing changes. All the little stools and tables disappear as there are actually on the street. Seems whatever the agreement is, they cant have their stools on the actual street. Then the police turn up, and they will take away any tables and chairs that violate the law/agreement!...........................

And then when the police have gone, the stools come back out onto the street, and are quickly filled with customers.....................................

Street food is just as good as the beer on the street. This BBQ set only cost £2.50, and was more than enough for me. The old dear who was running the bar here even cooked most of the food for me.............................................

Really friendly people, always happy to assist you. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and the food is fantastic with it's French connections.

Hanoi is unquestionably my favorite city in Asia. Nice people, wonderful street life. The only problem with the street life is that there's never anything to sit on but those bloody 18" high plastic stools. You guys probably don't see the problem now, but you will. When you get to be my age, it's no joke to be bobbing up and down and getting on and off those tiny stools... 😑

From what I remember the local talent was indeed beautiful and if I wasn't a happy sole who only plays at home now I know where my head would be!

I've heard this too.  Similarly situated to you though, that's not one of the things in the bucket for me.

Great trip/photo report.  It brought back memories.  I  was there last April, for 10 days. I really enjoyed Vietnam.  The girls are sexy but classy.  A bit different then Pattaya where the ladies are sexy but slutty.  Both are good.

I am not too sure about the rest, but I am pretty sure I know where to find that bridge, walked over it with my family less than a year ago.

Definitely hard on the knees,  for us older guys. Maybe carry as lightweight folding chair.  Highly Recommended  place to visit.

It takes some convincing and in my limited (n=1) experience they tend to stick 😉

Great photos, GF Nd I had 10 days there last year and loved it, especially the food. Off to HCM on the 20th for 8 days then Nha Trang for 15 days.
